Sorry for a post litterally from the farthest left field imaginable but I watched Prodigal Son, and what a fun time it was. I am immensely disappointed it got cancelled, but at this point I don’t even get surprised when I start a show that’s already not gonna continue.

I love PS but the writers need fact checkers and when things don’t add up i really think its laziness on their part and now I’m believing one of the reasons for the ratings to drop and them getting canceled. I love procedurals and shows that make you think however if I wasn’t in love with Malcolm I would have given up sometime during this season with all the continuity errors and mishaps. I watched Leverage for years and followed the show runners blog and he always said that if your audience could pick up mistakes then you were in trouble!

And does PS just make things up to fit the narrative and don’t care about continuity at all? all for the sake of a good script for the current episode? They can’t just shrug and go on.

I get the fact that Jessica was a young mom, whatever and I could see her being young and being taken in by an older brilliant doctor but the wanted poster in the promo says that Martin is 52 so that would mean he had Malcolm when he was 20 and met and married Jessica when he was 19. He would still have been in normal university maybe studying pre-med? follow that up with medical school, foundation years and core surgical training, he still would have been a resident when he was arrested at 31. At that age he would just be finishing his education not a world famous heart surgeon!! Unless he was Doggie Howser, they need to bump Martins age by at least 10 years. There is no reason why he couldn’t be 62.
