;; red tongues and hands â
The sound of harsh breathing and blood rushing was all that he heard. Delwyn knew what was chasing him and that knowledge alone was motivation enough to will his burning muscles to move.
From little further away he could spy the edge of the forest and beginning of a dark and deserted street. The thought of civilisation so close within reach had the healer forcing his body to run faster and his lungs not to collapse.
A loud growl alerted his attention back to the beast hot on his heels and just as Delwyn felt his legs about to give in and body to collapse, the silhouette of a woman appeared right around the corner of the dimly lit street. In a spur of panic and hurry, the healer grabbed for her arm and almost stumbled in an attempt to hide behind her.
It wasnât the most valiant thing he had ever done, but sweat was sticking to his temples and as his shaky fingers finally managed to reach for his wand, he cursed whoever thought it would be a good idea to send him off on his own.
     âHex it! Quick!â
Aya inhaled sharply as as her arm was caught in a tight grip. Instinct demanded that she ignore the words of this person and hex him instead for so suddenly intruding upon her personal bubble, and heâd remain forever blissfully unaware as to how close sheâd been to blasting his hands away instead.
He was lucky she thought fast.
âExpulso!â
She all but spat out he words, quick fury igniting as she hastily shoved the man behind her. Some might have called it honourable, but Aya would deny it to her last breath as a lack of desire to deal with the aftermath of an attack as opposed to the confrontation itself - clean-up was always a bitch.
âThe fuck is this?!â Her voice was a vicious hiss as the - well, whatever it was - was flung a good ways away. It wouldnât be enough to keep it away, no, but it would allow for a few momentsâ respite so she could figure out why on earth her grindylow search had gone so awry.
Aya hoped the explanation was good.
