sooo i'm madd, or maddy, or maddix, any works really! my pronouns are she/her and he/him, i speak french, and i am bigender, aromantic and aegosexual :]

nothing really makes sense on here, just a mixup of yapping, writing, and random fandoms, some of which are KnY, MHA, and the TMR franchise! im a bit active in other fandoms, but these are the main ones you'll see pop up!! (other fandoms are 9-1-1, KPDH, LotR and more)

Dobeš fixes him with a look. Lightly: “Do I look like a journalist?”

He sighs. “… Okay, and maybe I thought I was going to hurl when they told me I was starting against the Pens.”

Dobeš laughs, bright and somehow fond. “Well, you didn’t. You’ll just have to save one more next time.”

Next time? Huh. Assuming he’s not getting sent back to Laval before the next time they face the Pens is a choice. Jacob’s right-hand fingers twitch against each other in his pocket. He can see the hotel at the end of the street. “Or two.”

Dobeš’s turn to have an eyebrow flick up. “Or two.”

They fall into something like companionable silence. Jacob counts his steps without really thinking about it. Dobeš only has three inches on him in height but each one of his steps is maybe one-and-a-half times the length – enough of a difference that he has to be deliberately slowing himself down. Twenty-nine. Thirty. Thirty-one.

Somewhere behind them a voice – Arber, maybe – shouts up to them, “Hey, you two. Quit doing Shining twin shit.”

Dobeš grins but wordlessly flips Arber the bird over his shoulder, and Jacob thinks, with a guilty twist in his chest, that he doesn’t want to go back to Laval yet.
