Itâd been a long day, usually the royal palace wouldnât be even nearly as crowded as this, but a meeting with the higher ups had taken place and well⊠it meant several nobles from the surrounding areas just happened to be in town, which meant theyâd brought their own personal pets, and the lesser ranked nobles that served them, meaning well⊠it was packed. And Mikaela had always found crowded places to be awfully stressful. Even after learning how to control his senses, learning how to keep himself to himself without having said senses overpowered by everything around him.
Heart beats, scents, hormones, emotions everything that sent young vampires into a frenzy which usually ended their link to their past humanity, it was either remove themselves from that state or⊠lose themselves completely. Not every new vampire made the starting line-up. Some just couldnât stand it.
It was still uncomfortable though, all those vampires in one place, mixed in with humans of both no rank and high rank, a couple of higher ranking Hiragii included in the meeting, it was⊠nothing special just a bi-monthly update on goings on in areas around the world. Even Urd had made an appearance, Saito not so much, nobody had seen him in years, Mikaela had really only heard of him. But Urd was there, with his little midget carry on, Lest Karr. The not so young man whoâd been absolutely essential to making the final draft of the treaty work as well as it had done. Heâd been the one to add in the free will for humanity, to add in the choices.
Mikaela didnât even need to be there, Ferid had simply demanded he attend without prior warning or reason and honestly why argue with the 7th progenitor when you could just let him have his way and avoid the ear ache.
He made his way out early anyway, he knew the gist of it, things were normal, everything was fine, humans were doing human stuff, all was good. He did not need to be there.
                                 « Excuse me »
Oh for heavenâs sake, Mikaela just wanted to get back to his wing in the palace, just wanted to lay down, possibly get a quick snack, maybe a bubble bath of course tug his pet in with him because where else would he be while Mikaela did all of that? Mikaela genuinely just wanted to relax with his little pet, Yuu, hopefully heâd be awake. Still not quite used to the constant touches, the exertion, the stamina of a Vampire was something to be marvelled at if one where honest, Mikaela was honestly thrilled that the boy could keep up at all.
A turn of his head however proved to be beneficial, as his mood instantly brightened a fraction given just who was addressing him, Shinya Hiragii, one of the two nicer Hiragii by far, and out of those two, one of the most preferable to be around.
Shinoa was a dipshit no matter which way you looked at it.
âYes-yes I know who you are, please⊠just Mikaela is fineâ turning to face him with a warm smile growing on his lips, ruby hues softening to match. Though heâd never directly spoken to the man, Mikaela had always given him a smile should they pass in the hall, it was no secret that he was one of the best Hiragii, Mikaela didnât know a vampire who didnât know that. âThe meeting is not yet over if youâre waiting for your brotherâ why else would he be lurking outside the meeting hall like this? Kureto was inside, Kureto and Seishirou to be exact.Â
Mikaela was honestly surprised Shinya wasnât inside.
Itâs taken the immense amount of tolerance, in order to accumulate enough strength for his mask to take place that any of the Hiragii who have streamed from the meeting could not faze him with their demeaning stares and thoughts. Little care the adopted Hiragii held for them, at the moment, as he has personal business to attend to. To his delight and surprise, the blond did not seem to abhor his sudden approach. As even with the pact in place, some still love to make it known of the humansâ place. The disdain for the literally, blood-sucking beings bubbled up within him. An assortment of reasons as to why he detests them, but the unexpected warmth in the greeting caught him offguard ---.
Perhaps thereâs a good gem among the sea of predators.
The smile to arise from the sniper is at least receptive to whatever kindness Mikaela can provide him with. Though, not expected as heâs been raised amongst people who have killed their emotions or allowed their hearts to turn near to black. Even when theyâve exchanged a polite greetings through nods, but he always thought such things are meant purely for appearances. Either way, he does not delay in proceeding with their conversation --- a chuckle to ensue at the assumption he was seeking for any of his â as much as he knew he isnât welcomed â family.
âAh, no--- in fact, itâs you I was hoping to have a few moments with,â Of course, not meant to offer himself though explicitly stated in the pact he is one of those not to be touched. With the brush of fingertips over the black uniform, showing keen interest indeed to speak with the vampire. âI definitely donât intend to take too much of your time, I just have some concerns regarding something that has come to my attention.â With silent insistence that this conversation has to take place.
âCare for a walk?â With the ulterior motive to be as far from the Hiragiis as possible, considering itâll be a certain man who is openly and widely detested by those who have given Shinya his family name. As always, Shinya would be criticized, reprimanded and lectured  --- but he wouldnât falter as he felt he is the one in the right this time. With full knowledge of the cards they, the humans, at least still have up their sleeves. With the nod, as he led with the first steps to a leisure stroll down the corridor where tall columns stood. Many others were either preoccupied with meetings of their own, assigned tasks or rest periods.
âMikaela-san, youâre very familiar with a boy named Yuu, am I right?â
