Human flamingos

Okay, this isn't exactly a prompt. But you know the humans are deathworlders tag? The humans are space orcs trope? That one? Yeah.

And you also know how flamingoes actually have pink white feathers? And they only turn pink because of all the red colour they ingest with their food?

Now. Imagine there is a (probably normally poisonous) fruit out there that does that to out hair. And imagine a human being stranded in a place where that grows and barely anything else. Their crew comes to rescue them. They find out how the human crew mate survived. And when they start asking about it, the only reply would be something like:

"Yeah, it was time you came. I was turning into a fucking flamingo!"

And they do not offer further explanation, and the other crew members are too afraid to ask what the fuck that means.

Did you know that the flamingo colour thing means its stupid easy to "dye" them different colours? My local zoo turns them green for St. Patricks~

fun fact humans can turn um... blueish if we eat a lot of silver i think? so if someone was stranded on a planet where the consumable native fauna and flora had a high amount of silver in them then it could be possible that the people that were stuck there could eventually over many years turn blue.

You could die. Or worse: survive.

"Put. That. Down." Even though they didn't bother to look up from their book, it was obvious they meant it. They pronounced every word carefully.

Yet, that didn't seem to reach the target as the answer was just an annoyed: "Why? What's the worst that's possibly gonna happen, hm?"

"You could die!" their sibling exclaimed, obviously shocked at the evident stupidity in the form of a human being.

They, in turn, just smirked as they turned their page. "Or worse: You could survive."

"Hey, now. I know you two don't get along, but that's a bit…" They didn't need to see the face of their sibling to know the expression they'd meet if they were to look up. So they didn't look, just sighed.

"That's not it. I just mean… If the idiot survived, the idiot will have to explain to a certain partner just what the fuck that was. And the current lack of useful thoughts." Now, they did look up. Just in time to see their belovedly hated idiot pale until they started to half suspect looking at a corpse - and also finally putting that hazard down, very slowly and very carefully.

"Yeah," they said returning to their book "thought so."

"Are you happy now?" he said, turning away in tears " you proved that you were right. You proved that I should never have tried to leave, that only could leave in the first place since they didn't know. You... You proved that they only loved me because they didn't know who l used to be."

There was a beat of silence before he laughed hamorlessly: "you're right, and you got your revenge, and I hate you. Hope that was worth it."

They watched as their old love walked away in tears. "No," they finally said, though too late "it really wasn't"

So, this isn't a prompt but… Since I'm pretty proud of the logo (and it's pretty small in itself) I wanted to share it again in a separate post, so… Here ya' go:

A fluffy (?) prompt for once:

He froze, completely forgetting what it was that he'd been in the middle of saying right then. Instead, he reached out and took that book in his hands. "This is…?"

"Well, you were the one to say that a witch was nothing without their grimoire, right? So, of course I would keep that safe. I promised…"

He turned around, looking at his oldest friend. The friend who, in contrast to him, aged quite a bit since that time. And he realised something: "You waited for me. All this time, you didn't give up on me. You… didn't abandon me."

A smile he'd missed, even in the eons spent outside this dimension, outside of time. "Never."

New writing prompt: Hero and villain

At that moment, the hero realised for the first time how tired he was. And he started to wonder what would happen if he would let go of the edge. Five fingers desperately hanging on. Now four. For how much longer? What would happen?

"No!", he heard the villain scream suddenly. And, oh, in that moment of sudden stupidity he'd actually let go, without even fully noticing, hadn't he? And again: "No! Don't you dare die! Not here, not like this, not now."

How ironic, he thought just before his vision went dark, that the only hand reaching out to him, the hero, the so called "light of hope"… the only hand reaching out to him now was that of his nemesis.

Maybe not hating the villain hadn't been quite as bad as he'd thought.

Angsty prompts for tense situations

1] "No? Excuse me, but with what word, gesture or… generally just with what did I ever even so much as imply that it was your choice?"

2] "Regret it? You've gotta be fucking kidding me. The only thing I regret, dearie, is that I couldn't continue. Thanks for that, by the way."

3] "Well, yes, I guess… I do know that person, though I'd prefer not to. Why do you ask about hi- them?"

4] "Do you honestly expect me to trust you? On what grounds? According to your attire, you're the enemy!"

5] "You're bluffing. I know it, you know it, everyone knows. But just assuming you're not, just for a second, that would mean you…?"

6] "No! I… Okay. Fine. I'll do whatever you want, just… Please, don't send that."

7] "I didn't betray you. How could you ever betray anyone you've never been loyal to in the first place? Besides, did I not tell you?"

8] "Oh! And, by the way, I'm immune to poison. Nice try, though. Normal people would've died by now."

9] "He was human! Look at him right now. It's obvious! Why can't you just accept that?"

10] "I didn't do anything. You did this to yourself, with all your paranoid, obsessive, delusional actions. I just didn't stop you."

11] "This is it. Either kill me now, or stop pretending that you will. Decide."

12] "You will die? Seriously? What kind of shitty prophecy is that? Everyone will die eventually, so that's not- Why are you so quiet?"

13] "Who sent you?" "Unimportant." "Why did they sent you?" "To kill you, obviously." "And why did you come?" "Oh~ You know me so well."

14] "You little- You better be careful what you're saying!" "Why? I'll die either way, won't I?"

15] "It's dead water under the bridge, right?" "No, it's not! And stop with those word games, you're not funny, you're just an ass."
