This HP AU features no actual magic, it’s just incredibly high tech like Marvel’s Asgard claims to be… This explains the need for exact pronunciation of the spells: they’re voice activated commands. Hogwarts is an A.I.

Fusion randomness: Obadiah Stane gets stuck in a computer system, somewhere, Tron style. (Since he’s not Kevin Flynn I’m sure it goes poorly for everyone.) Vague expansion: the Avengers discover he’s trapped in there and ethical arguments ensue before he is Brought to Justice.

Hannibal (NBC). During one of his Chesapeake Ripper kills Hannibal pisses off a witch/gets hit by a death curse that turns him into a beast-in this case a dog. Breed up to writer (anything from something purebred and fancy to the kind that just have “….mixed” as best guess). Stunned and confused, he ends up being found by one FBI profiler Will Graham.

Not gonna lie, one of my favorite parts about writing urban fantasy is determining how and where the fantasy meshes in with reality.

Like, I’m not saying Freddie Mercury WAS a siren, but have you ever heard anyone NOT sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody?

I rest my case.

Soulmate AU in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens universe

What if soulmate bonds were known about, but only one-way until you met the person? You couldn’t know whether a given person heard your thoughts, but you knew that whoever your soulmate was, they were listening. And if it’s an OT3, it’s three one-way broadcasts until they all got together, even if two had already met.

Like, Poe could hear Rey’s, and her loneliness drives his ambition within the Resistance, and Rey can hear Finn’s and it makes her hate the First Order, and Finn can hear Poe’s and that’s why he rescued him.

Cross Blade Runner with Star Wars. Give us an alternate universe Han Solo who’s more confused and tired Rick Deckard than suave, snarky Han, a bounty hunter barely tolerated by the Imperials who hunts down clones who escaped during/after the Clone Wars. Seamy underbellies and decadent nightlife and crazy Coruscant (or Corellian) air traffic.

The Covenant--Villain

So in the Covenant, we know that Chase is the villain before we even get halfway through the movie, and they build him up as this giant big villain, but of course it comes off as a little silly. 

Anyway, we were watching the movie with friends, and I was thinking wouldn’t it be a more interesting ending if Chase only comes off as the villain, but in the end it’s Sarah that’s actually causing the boy’s harm. Maybe women witches aren’t as well respected or acknowledged and Sarah’s trying to bring them down. Maybe Chase has trouble controlling his powers, since he’s an orphan, and lashes out at random intervals. 

Make it fun, and make it interesting, because the women in this movie really got the shaft.
