He listened to the other line go silent until loud rustling invaded his ear. Pulling the phone away with a grimace, he turned down the volume of the speaker, before putting it back the to his ear. Her stuttering was a dead give away. Rubbing his temples, Jongin tossed the blankets off his body. He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and got up to go put on a shirt. He knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep until he was sure the other girl was okay. Sighing, he put the phone on speaker, resting it on his nightstand as he put on a shirt.
“Just letting me know. Yeah okay.” He rolled his eyes, picking his phone back to go grab his keys. Before he left his room, Jongin gave himself a quick once over, nodding in approval at his attire. He was adorned in black sweatpants and a simple white cotton t-shirt. “I’ll be there in ten, and for the love of god, don’t burn anything else.”
She felt helpless as she watched the hot ribbons of red and orange grow upwards until they threatened to devour the ceiling. "Okay," she croaked as she backtracked a few steps, the smoke beginning to sting her eyes. The smoke alarm chirped endlessly and she clutched the fabric of her shirt as she teared herself out of her apartment room, worried that if she took her eyes off of that fire, it would consume the entire kitchen. It seemed like forever as she awaited help from anyone. She sat across the door to her apartment, stomach churning as she couldn't help but feel like an idiot. It took a little over five minutes for the men to appear on the scene.
Seulgi sincerely felt guilty for waking up Jongin, especially since she knew he rarely got much sleep. It was too late to take it back though; tell him not to come. He was probably already on his way. Seulgi sighed softly as she brought her knees up to her chest and rested her chin between them.
