Jurassic Park was a massive part of my childhood and is still a big part of my life today. The news I heard this morning was genuinely heartbreaking. Sam Neill and Alan Grant will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest in peace Sam Neill, and my deepest condolences to his family.

June's drawing is for the Saola.

Saola, meaning “spindle horns”, is a bovine that was listed as critically endangered by the IUCN Red List in 2015, and is believed to have less then a hundred individuals left, if any at all. They are often called the “Asian unicorn” because of their rumored gentleness and rare sightings. The saola was only first documented in 1992, when a skull was found in a hunter’s home. There are currently none in captivity, but when there was, they never lasted long due to stress and health complications, making any breeding programs difficult. Saola are only found in the forests of the Annamite Mountains in Laos and Vietnam. Human encroachment into their habitat, especially from the construction of roads, cuts into their already little territory . Hunting is another big concern for them. Snares, even if not meant for saola, are often placed within the protected areas and can trap them as easily as any other creature unfortunate to come across them. There is also quite a bit of commercial hunting for saola because of their rarity.

Updated Prosaic's ref sheets as well as made a feral version and plush version for Artfight this year. The team reveal is only in a few hours and I'm already hyped! I'm going to embarrass my besties in public when it happens >:)

Also, I made a new OC to make a fursuit head for, as a sort of practice before I try making one of Prosaic. Named him Damascus after Damascus steel and he's a ceratosaurus. He will also be up on Artfight, but his refs are only sketches because I wasn't originally planning to add him lol

Now that I am free for a bit, my Next Big Project is to harness my autism and make the entirety (at least, as much as I can) of the warriors family tree genetically accurate!!

I will be using @bonefall’s family trees as a base, since, yknow, they fixed the inbreeding and a bunch more

May's drawing is for the Javan rhino.

The Javan rhino has been listed as critically endangered on IUCN Red list since 2019, and only have approximately 50 individuals left now. They are estimated to live around forty years, and are mostly solitary creatures — only really coming together to mate, or for the mother to raise her calf. They once lived all over Southeast Asia, but the remaining individuals are currently in Ujung Kulon National Park located in Indonesia. A large part of the Javan rhino population were killed off by trophy hunters, and also hunted as agricultural pests. Many were also killed for their horns in order to use them in Traditional Asian Medicine. Many rhinos are still hunted for their horns, although now more for a symbol of status and wealth rather then medicine. Habitat loss, poaching, and potential inbreeding due to their low numbers still pose a large threat to the remaining Javan rhinos. They are also in danger from potential natural disasters. Anak Krakatau, a volcanic island not to far from the park, could wipe out a large portion of life the protected park.

Part 3/3 of my Fruit Bowl Dinos. These ones are all the new designs I've made. I've already got all 12 fruit dinos up as stickers on my Redbubble if anyone wants them. These are the coconut concavenator, grape guanlong, lemon lambeosaurus, and orange oviraptor.

Part 2/3 of my new Fruit Bowl Dinos designs. This is the last of my redesigns, the next ones are going to be completely new. Here we got a dragonfruit dilophosaurus, peach parasaurolophus, pineapple pachyrhinosaurus, and strawberry spinosaurus.

April's drawing is for the Rice's Whale.

The Rice’s Whale is a medium-sized baleen whale that lives in the Gulf of Mexico. They are estimated to only have around 50 individuals left and was listed as critically endangered by the IUCN Red List in 2021, the same year that they were deemed their own distinct species. They are often struck by boats, a lot of the time as they sleep at the surface of the water. They can also become entangled in marine debris and fishing nets, leading them to drown. Water and noise pollution also plays a large role in their decline. Water pollution, often from oil spills, joined by climate change negatively affects their food sources’ populations. Noise pollution interferes with the whale’s vocalizations and makes it drastically harder for them to communicate with each other. Most of the noise coming from boats and oil drilling. Trump’s desire for more oil has become a massive threat to the Rice’s whale. He has used the “God Squad” to allow oil companies to bypass the protections put in place to protect endangered species in the gulf that has been there for decades. This group is a government panel that was created in 1978 to create exemptions to Endangered Species Act protections if it was deemed profitable enough. The Rice’s whale are not the only ones affected by this, though. Many endangered sea turtles, manta rays, coral, and more share those waters, and they are the ones paying the price for Trump’s greed.

I've been seeing a lot of furrytrix on twitter and decided to draw them with some mouthing affection from Rumi. I also made Mira a maned wolf and Zoey an otter instead of a fox and bunny cause that just fits better in my head.
