We're back, trying to get our dang ships polled. If you need a refresher or you're new here: this is a regular blog polling people on whether they ship something or not. The only twist is that the ships here are the ones that other blogs won't take, AKA the ships that you're scared of admitting you're into for fear of a billion anons seding you inbox hate! The stuff that's considered problematic by wider fandom? This is the blog where you can talk about it!

We'll be posting five times a day for a little while now at the beginning, starting July 10th 2025. After that, we'll be back to the normal three polls per day!

Now, onto submission info!

The only rules are:

You must provide a reason as to why this is considered "problematic" that makes sense considering canon. As an example, things like 'they are sibling-coded' are very shaky reasons, as they're just based on popular fanon interpretations, and I might disqualify the submission. 'They are adoptive siblings canonically' would be an acceptable reason that the ship is considered problematic. If the fanon is popular enough though, I might make an exception or two.

No RPF/real people shipping. This is exclusively about fictional pairings and that's final. This includes Minecraft SMP pairings. Since we're going into shaky moral territory this is non-negotiable, as the things that are being discussed here may be fun and harmless to explore in fiction, but I do not condone them in reality. Thank you for understanding the distinction.

I’m a bit worried about pro shippers because some say fiction doesn’t effect reality but it does and some pro shippers ship things like adult x child and sibling x sibling and other things I’m not anti censorship but some things shouldn’t be normalized

I promise you if game of thrones and all those gothic literature haven't normalized incest — if slasher and horror movies haven't normalized murders or psychological torture, if hot villains haven't normalized manipulation or toxicity by now — then silly fanfiction isn't going to normalize shit.

if someone ever lets fiction affect them enough to the point they think bad things in fiction are good in-real-life because they're portrayed as such, then chances are that, with or without the fiction they consume, they are already troubled and they need help.

there are things you can worry about that are actually worrisome, but what type of fanfiction someone writes or reads is not one of those things.

you can, of course, find some things in fiction unpleasant. you can choose not to engage with fanfics that make you uncomfortable. but you have no right to tell other people what they can or can't create and/or consume. that is not your business.

and to my fellow writers, write whatever you want, however you want. no matter how messed up or morally questionable it is. you have all the freedom and power to write whatever you want, however you want forever. don't let strangers tell you what you can or cannot write.

Sorry for the inactivity, mod has burnt out

I didn't expect to not be able to make it even a month into restarting the blog, but 5 posts a day was shortsighted at best and straight up hubris at worst*★,°*:.☆(￣▽￣)/$:*.°★* 。

I could go into why but it'd get rambly and no one's got time to read that. In any case, the central idea of the blog still stands: don't harm real people over fictional characters, respect people's boundaries, and remember to consider the nuance in the situations that call for it. That's all this blog ever stood for.

Honestly part of the problem with this obsession with only consuming unproblematic fiction is that people are less likely to acknowledge when something is harmful. If you so much as say hey this one joke in this one episode was offensive fans will write you an essay on why it wasn’t. Because they’ve created a world view where this is basically accusing them of being a bad person who has committed an unforgivable sin.

I’m really really sorry for this but I need to rant. The last time I tried doing this publicly on main I got harassed by somebody…so I’m doing it anonymously.

Posting online ≠ consent. I really hate how the proship community takes this and runs. I really hate how proshippers compare people telling someone no to Anne Rice or Yealkore (idk if I spelled that right,,) — artists who used the legal system against people.

No- Nobody is coming after you legally or censoring you for telling you not to draw nsfw of their characters. They can’t do anything besides make a dumb call out. That’s it.

This argument is also very hypocritical and disrespectful in general.

Proshippers are very vocal about being respectful towards people and stuff, bur suddenly that gets thrown out the window because a random artist on tumblr goes, “don’t do xyz of my ocs plz u don’t have my permission”. Like- I even see some say they’ll create stuff of someone’s character out of spite because they dare to have rules about their own creations that they own.

Nobody is really stopping you to begin with. Really all these artists are asking of you is to respect their creations. It’s their stuff. They’re allowed to make rules or whatever.

Up until the end of July we'll continue posting 5 ships per day.

On August 1st there will be 10 polls, all m/m, for ships already submitted before. I may do this later on for f/f ships as well. If there's a m/m ship from one of the previous blogs you'd like to see reposted and repolled, you can go ahead and send me an ask!

From August 2nd onward we'll be back to the 3 ships per day schedule.

Submission Rules:

Most kinds of media is ok, like tv show/movie/book/game etc.

No real people, I recommend @rpfshippingpolls for that. No dsmp-styled mcyt characters either.

Incestuous ships, ships between adults and minors, normal characters x loli/shota are not allowed. Inappropriate age gaps may also disqualify a ship if it's like 11 y/o with 16 y/o. I think using common sense is enough.

Feel free to ask if you are unsure of anything.

Banned fandoms:

Harry Potter, Hazbin/Helluva, Gushing over magical girls, usually mcyt. You can see the full list and reasons for this in the last tab in the spreadsheet below.

Fandom jail

Fandom jail is for fandoms who bother me too much but don't deserve to be banned forever. This means polls featuring these characters will be put on hold. The fandoms currently in jail are:
