Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
The best used hour in our lives is that in which we love Jesus the most.
Bl. Charles de Foucauld (via saintquotes)
Today, I lost my cool at my roommate. According to her, I am not a Christian. When I told her that Catholicism is one of the earliest forms of Christianity, she disagreed with me. So, I got a little heated and told her that I wasn't going to have this debate. I could have handled it better, I admit that.
I promptly went home and cried off and on in my bed for the rest of the day.
I don't understand. Whenever I tell people my religion (which is rare) I say "Catholic Christian" sometimes, but mostly I say "Christian." I know I'm a Christian. It really should be that simple. I go to church every week and worship my God. The same one she worships.
But why did I let what she said hurt and anger me like that?
Tuesday night at the bible study: Ecclesiastes 12.
There comes a moment when people who have been dabbling in religion (Man's search for God!) suddenly draw back. Supposing we really found Him? We never meant it to come to that! Worse still, supposing He found us?
So it is a sort of Rubicon. One goes across; or not. But if one does, there is no manner of security against miracles. One may be in for anything.
Miracles, C.S. Lewis
When I see the cute boy who goes to my church and he lets me get up to get off the bus before him:
Me: AND ALSO WITH YOU.
If I was asked to pick one song that makes me think of the shift in my faith, this would be it.
Ramblings
I'm so blessed. I can finally admit it. Yes. I've been through so much in my life, but I'm still blessed. My grandmother. My aunts. Friends. My love of books. My talent for writing. My education. Travels. These and many more are blessings. I can see it now. I'm alive. That is enough.
The fact that I can admit this proves I'm healing.
Thank you Lord. Thank you.
Ah, I miss this place. Hard to believe it's real. Even with the crowds, I felt peace. Saint-Chapelle, Paris.
You guys
I have read two C.S Lewis books in the past two weeks. I strongly suggest reading his work. "Mere Christianity" and "The Screwtape Letters" are what I've read so far, and I plan on reading a lot more of his work. If you want some amazing Christian Apologetics, please check him out.
Wow! I can’t believe I have reached over 1,000 followers.
Honestly, I started this blog as a person finding my faith, and now I’m just a person struggling every day to keep it and become a better person. I don’t claim to be anywhere near a good Christian, but I’m trying each day. Mental illness and past memories make it hard, but I am a fighter. I know I am stronger with God.
Thanks for being on this journey with me.
