It's been SUCH a long time since I have posted here, but this seems like the best reason to come back to Tumblr! Family isn't asking for help, but as a community we have chosen to help anyways. If their story strikes you, I hope you will choose to help too.

I have to agree with the author here. Yvette Carnell, a writer for Your Black Politics, also gave a fair assessment to Paul (http://yourblackpolitics.wordpress.com/2011/12/21/is-ron-paul-a-racist/). I pray that cooler heads prevail, and Paul can continue his movement forward. After all, this is on the same level as the Obama/Rev. Wright scandal.

A ten fold effect on the lithium ion battery may push Tesla's battery technology past traditional combustion engines finally. Once they, along with Toyota, GM, Ford, Nissan and any other electric/hybrid producer integrates this into the mix we could see personal vehicles that can reach a 2500 mile range on a single charge and cut recharge time down to under an hour. 

This also works into cell phone and portable device battery life and anything else powered by lithium ion batteries. This is a game changer.

Tumblr has launch a viral effort to stop SOPA and the Protect IP bills that are in Congress right now. Both bills, if passed, will put our internet access on the same playing field as China. We need freedom on the net in order to push forward. Passage of either bill would be a regressive step backwards and hurt not only the freedom of the press, freedom of speech, and the freedom to assemble; but would also hurt an already weakened economy.

Being sick is bad, but Perry's Gaffe was worse.

Haven't been able to post for a bit because of the October winter storm and the string of illnesses hitting the family. But Rick Perry's fumble at the CNBC debate was enough to get me laughing. So, with laughter being the best medicine, thank you Rick. 

I checked the polls today on RealClearPolitics.com and found it interesting that Perry is running 5th or 6th in Iowa and New Hampshire. And Ron Paul is running third, while Newt Gingrich is running third Nationally. If, front runner, Cain does, as inevitably predicted, fall it looks like it will be Newt or Ron to challenge Mitt for the candidacy. The problem? Newt hates the media and the media hates Ron. So I am interested to see how this will all unfold. It would be a major failure on the part of the media if the "nonviable" Ron Paul came in second in either state and didn't receive the due focus and attention that is given to Cain, Bachmann, and Perry. It would be the fault of Gingrich if he performed the same and didn't start working with media outlets.

Regardless, I think it is safe to say at this point that our country's First Black President will also take the title of First Black Two Term President. Although it would be a sight to see Rick debate Barrack.

So once I got over the initial excitement of just the simple fact that we skipped the flying saucer and went straight to a flying bouncy ball; the wheels in my head began their usual grind and I realized the potential technology partnerships that could create one of the biggest game changing products of the 21st century. 

Let's introduce the Japanese Defense Ministry to Lytro and Jonas Pfeil & Co. to create the first flying fully panoramic that is focus after the fact. Call it the 'GlobeShot'?

This type of device would revolutionize the GPS navigation industry, the military recon industry, the Real Estate industry, the Media/Entertainment Industry, and Travel/Tourism industry, the gaming industry etc.

I am predicting it now, if such a device were to come out it would rework how we look at video/photography digitally and open up entirely new worlds in countless industries. 

If I had the capital, I would jump on this.

A better way to watch

Someone has finally tackled the busy-ness of YouTube and other video websites (DailyMotion, Break, Snotr etc). Shelby.tv is using your friend's recommendations to build a playlist of web videos that you can watch and choose to add to your own list or delete. The simplicity of the service is what will be key to it's adoption and success. Even I have pulled up YouTube.com and sat there asking myself "now what? What do I feel like watching?". The idea of recommended videos is the easy answer to those questions to keep me moving forward and finding content that I enjoy watching.

The next step in web video has to be organization. The era of amassing media has come to a point where it can be incredibly overwhelming to an individual who has lost sight of where to start in their search for entertainment.

The Tea Party and OWS are talking...

The question is why can't congress? If two groups, separated by creed, politics, age, and culture can find common ground to come to terms on and openly discuss differences in earnest to product compromise; why can't congress? The political environment of today invokes extreme unwillingness to talk in an effort to act as if the US Government is a high school popularity contest that must be won. But, as Ron Paul said on meet the press this morning, there isn't much difference in the ideologies of the Democratic party and the new Neo-Conservative Evangelical based Republican party. Neither side truly wants to bring our troops home. Neither side is willing to put the entire Federal budget on the table for cuts in order to balance it. Both seek to expand the overreach of Government power. Both want to increase spending.The differences are solely in the focus on which part of the government deserves the most attention (military or entitlement spending).

I can only hope that as individual members of the Tea Party and OWS begin conversations with each other, that these conversations begin to grow while maintaining civility. Maybe then the legislative and the executive branches of our government can take notice.

On schedule to raise over $2Million, Ron Paul is following up his best debate performance yet with a 24hr "Black This Out" Money Bomb. Last night, Ron Paul took it to Herman Cain calling his 9-9-9 plan "dangerous". He then hit him one more time over the Occupy Wall Street movement. Paul said that Cain was blaming the victims and needs to rethink his stance.

Paul pushed his Trillion Dollar Plan and emphasized the need for all departments to be on the table. Paul challenged the other candidates to put a plan forward with specific cuts, and touted that he was the only candidate on the stage to truly take a hard look at the federal budget and put a specific plan together.

The new Samsung model isn't in here, but the Droid Razr is. And it already knocks off the 4s from Apple. Droids are at a standard 1.2 Ghz processor and a standard 1GB of RAM. The Razr now hits Apple where it hurts, battery life. They best the iOS device by 4.5hrs. The front facing camera is reduced to a 1.3MP, but still better than VGA. Here's the deal, Droid is started it's turn toward technology dominance in the last quarter. iPhone is surviving on autopilot branding. The 5 has to be a new revolution in devices. And Tim Cook has to rekindle the fire in Jobs-esque fashion. Else, its a repeat of the desktop war.

So Iris. Built in 8hrs. At a hackathon. By Dexetera.com. Voice control? No. But that's because voice control is already part of the Android OS and works with the keyboard. Iris takes your question and searches everything. So the voice input already there to be connected, they built in text-to-speech and then added a funny bone or heuristic humor. The beta is out. And the first release is due out this week. So given the ease and speed of the release of Iris, I am def. not impressed with Siri.It would be like getting awe struck by the fact you can tie your shoes at the age of 30.

Marine Sgt. Shamar Thomas lectured the NYPD about properly protecting US Citizens and refraining from violence against unarmed civilians. He repeatedly instructs them to join the military in Afghanistan or Iraq if they insist on fighting someone. 

As a result, he received a platform with Keith Olbermann on Current TV's Countdown.

$1 Trillion - Ballsy!

Ron Paul came out swinging tonight at a press conference where he revealed a proposal for a Trillion Dollar Cut in spending across the board. 15% reduction in "militarism", 5 federal departments phased out, 10% federal employment cut, and a pay cut to $39K for the office of President. This is the first plan with specifics to make a concerted effort to balance the federal budget through hard cuts to all programs and areas. The only place Paul doesn't seem to touch is Veteran's benefits and those already dependent on programs like Social Security.

I just find this incredibly inspiring. The "win" definitely causes me to think a lucrative movie deal based on his story has to be in the works. I just see the events and arrest, leading to his multiple refusals to admin false guilt, his subsequent release, to his first/only pro fight with a win being  almost "Rudy"-like.
