They had the potential to be the greatest love story of all time like she thought she was irredeemable and only brought harm to those close to her but she opened up to kitty!! They were best friends!! She died and her soul sword the manifestation of her very soul went to kitty she touched illyanas soul in her hands they were textually soulmates and then when she came back she was soulless and she fought tooth and nail to get scraps of her humanity back and then kitty was engaged to her brother and she was the maid of honor. And the night before the wedding she desperately tries to talk kitty out of it and she says "if you guys were supposed to happen it wouldve already happened" and shes lying through her teeth bc if theres no chance por piotr and kitty theres no chance for them its the lamest excuse ever its selfish and she apologizes for it but kitty still understands her and the next day shes at the altar and piotr is about to put the ring on her finger and right behind him is illyana and kitty cant do it!! She cant do it!!! Tldr kitty and illyana should've run away together from that altar
