Me
Hi my name is meghan and I went on a 7 month hiatus after I finished my senior year of cross country and stopped running and I went through some really dark times but hey I'm here I'm back I've been running and exercising and I can even do a push up now :) I feel strong for the first time in forever.
how to fall back in love with your first love: go slow, get to know each other again without keeping time, try new routes, but don’t be afraid to revisit old ones - they’re comfortable. go unreasonably fast, go all the way, run at sunset, change the scenery, stop to pet dogs, stop to take photos of the beautiful earth, smile at the people you pass, run in the shoes you always swore you’d never wear, run once a week and don’t even think about lacing up the other six days, swear you’re done with this sport but catch yourself smiling as you run up your least favorite hill because even though it doesn’t define you anymore, it doesn’t measure you, it can’t break you - you’re still the most You you’ll ever be when you’re running.
saying yes to a trail run is always good a decision ☀️⛰🌻🏃🏼♀️
Leaders of the girls race at Footlocker Nationals!!
don’t compare yourself to professional athletes. i found myself recently obsessed with “why don’t i look like that” or “why can’t i run that far or lift that much”. and then i realized. i’m just a normal girl who does her best to eat healthy and exercise while also studying, socializing, and participating in a million other things and still get 8 hours of sleep. professional athletes make their livelihoods by fitness. they literally get paid to run, perform, etc.
while you’re sitting in class or studying or at your job, these athletes are exercising and getting professional advice about nutrition, work outs, etc. so no, you shouldn’t feel like you have to look like a professional athlete because you’re not one. you’re you.
