“That’s point though, isn’t it?” They asked the boy, flashing a mischievous little grin. “To not be taken as a threat and then surprise! Homicide.” Sybill hummed in quiet agreement and turned away from the announcement board, gesturing for Gideon to walk with them, should he want to. “You never really know who’s who anyway, Gideon. People…are never who they want others to think they are. I’ve Seen things you wouldn’t believe.”
Gideon burst out laughing. “I guess you’re right,” he said, shaking his head; “looks like you would make a pretty good serial killer after all! Better than me, at least.” He followed after her and nodded slowly while he digested her words. “That’s a pretty depressing thought. I guess I just prefer to see the best in others and assume they’re telling me the truth, y’know?”
“Really? Like what? If you don’t mind me asking, that is,” he added quickly, not wanting to offend them or make them uncomfortable.
