i always love the scene where connor goes to the evidence locker to get the key to jericho because it’s in this awkward space in (moreso deviant connor but could be any depending how you played him i suppose) his story where he’s obviously experiencing more intense emotions - fearing death, sense of genuine urgency about his mission for fear of consequences, not wanting to disappoint amanda, a personal sense of accomplishment even, and he’s behaving as ‘human’ as we’ve ever seen him in his mannerisms (again, depending on how you’ve played him) yet that’s juxtaposed against the fucked up things he does in that evidence room. i just love that juxtaposition of him mumbling to himself about hanks password against him coolly and calculatedly performing acts of violence and horror upon the poor souls trapped on display in that evidence room, it just really tickles me

like “hank please help meeee they’ll kill me otherwise🥺🥺🥺” one second and the next making a half dead guy believe his saviour has come to bring him home

I really love some of the last scenes because of this exact juxtaposition.

Because you can treat it as machine Connor completing his mission without regard for other androids OR deviant Connor who is so scared of being deactived for failing his mission that he does all of these horrible things anyway.

That's also why I think the Kamski Test is a really stupid way to see if an android is deviant. Shooting someone else to keep yourself safe is something driven by emotion too. At this point Connor has been told that if he doesn't have results soon he will be replaced, so behaving more like a machine out of self-preservation and fear would logically follow.
