ABOUT JANUARY

Growing up, January was around the musical theatre world a lot and it wasn’t that she didn’t like it but it was never something she was interested in. The idea of performing in front of so many people never appealed to her. She didn’t want to have to deal with the rejection that came from it and all the dancing, singing and acting classes she would have to go to. She loved watching shows but that was enough for her, the idea of pursuing theatre as a career was not there. She used to think it meant she was nothing like her mom and she wasn’t all that close to her mom anyway, she knew her mom loved her and she had some sort of relationship with her however it wasn’t the kind of relationship she saw her friends having with their mom.

Growing up in New York was a lot for her however it was the best place for January to start her Youtube Channel so during her Junior year of High school she started her youtube channel and vlogged her life and created videos about her life and over time she started to see it growing with time. She knew she wanted to do youtube long term and as she started earning money from it and getting a manager from it she knew she could have it as a job. 

When she graduated college she had always made it a mission to go to college out of New York and she was very much interested in Journalism which again was so different to what her mom was like. She found a school in Los Angeles that she liked the look of so moved to LA and went to PSU. Moving to LA was actually the best thing for her, not just because she was able to share more for her youtube and she had more content to give but also she just fell in love with the place and the college. 

At college she met her best friend and ever since then they have been inseparable, they lived together during college and for a few years after college. They even started a podcast together where they answer peoples dilemmas about friends, relationships and life, they call it the Locker Room Podcast and they have been going for a good few years and still going now. They have done a couple of podcast tours together and honestly January has been having the time of her life working with her best friend alongside taking her youtube on the journey.

The only reason January and her best friend stopped living together was because January moved in with her boyfriend from college and they were honestly inseparable, everyone thought they were going to get married and so did she. However not that long ago he broke up with her because he felt like they had outgrown each other and she was heart broken. They had been together since they were 20 so after 12 years together it felt like she was having to start all over again. 

FAMILY BACKGROUND

April Rhodes had so much success planned for her. She was talented, with the vocals of an angel and a spunky attitude to outshine her petite body. Her success on Broadway was everything. She was Glinda in the original Wicked cast, and had Tony awards to her name. And that’s when the stress of success started getting to her and alcohol became her solace. Failed relationship after failed relationship was enough to have April doing things that she couldn’t remember anything. This resulted in her downfall from Broadway, where she was blacklisted from ever performing on stage again. This resulted in her drinking getting worse. After this, she had many flings with many different men.

She was never able to settle down, but ended up having more children than she could really ever care for. Luckily some friends that didn’t abandon her after her downfall helped with raising the children, but the aftermath on them and their names was certainly a wild ride.

We're so back!! No more crying, just lots of hugging instead while we record some super awesome podcast episodes!! Should we do an episode whilst having cocktails, that sounds like it could be SO fun!!! True, that was a semi-voluntary shelter in place thing, but I am free of that now and I get to hang out with all my favourite people all the time. I was in Shelter Build for ages, but towards the end we were moved to the cafeteria. We should get like... homing pigeons or something just in case something like this ever happens again???

So much hugging needed to make up for that lost time. that sounds like the perfect plan. Cocktails and recording an episode would be great. It would be so so much fun, especially with the two of us, when wouldn't it be fun. Oh my gosh can we, getting. stuck somewhere without you is kind of scary.

Oh my god, yeah. This one time I was at a meeting that lowkey was probably cult recruitment if we're being honest, but that's another story. There was this point where they were like "okay everyone, time to sign away your life savings in your own blood, here's the contact and a needle to prick your finger" which is when I realized alright time to bounce. Put on my headphones, try to sneak out real quiet like 'cause I don't know these people, they might try to off me if they catch me leaving. Long story short, I tripped over someone's backpack on my way out and faceplanted into a trashcan. Chipped two of my teeth, whole time Hollaback Girl is still playing through my headphones. Now every time I listen to Gwen Stefani, my teeth hurt. But you know, Twilight is cool too.

I mean, doesn't everyone? I feel like that's just a fundamental part of being human and listening to music. I have a questionable amount of songs that make me think of my ex, or about times I'd rather forget. But there are some that are happier, at the very least.

I love stumbling across music I haven't heard in years like that, I recently came across an old Scottish alt rock band I used to love as a teenager, it's made me want to cover some of their songs in my next set. There's definitely songs that I have to skip the second they come on too, but that's kinda the beauty of music I think, it's weaved into core memories and evokes all sorts of emotions, and I love that

Oh my gosh yes and if you have seen my youtube you would know how in love I was. Honestly thought we were going to get married but instead I got heartbroken and I still am. I don't know if I will ever love again though.

I have decided to put my playlist on spotify on shuffle and considering there are songs from the last 10 to 15 years on there or so, any random songs are coming up. I have been thrown across so many memories from this. I have really found myself remembering things that have happened from songs. Like i have just listened to Flightles Bird, American Mouth, not only does that remind me of Twilight but it also reminds me of dancing on prom night. I am also being reminded of songs I forgot that existed. Anyone else have that? Does anyone have a specific song that rejogs their memory to something that they forgot or tried to forget?
