‘’I do take it rather personally when I hear it broadcast that people want me killed. Even though I know that there are a great number of people with that opinion ,I’d just as soon not hear it,thank you…I’m satisfied with who I am and what I am and I beg no one for nothing because I’ve done nothing to warrant the verdict imposed.’’
Reblog this if you’re in the TCC and...

Cooking Personality Test - the recipe you’re making calls for six ounces of tomato paste, but you can only get tomato paste in 5.5oz cans. You:
Crack open a second can and skim 10% off the top
Use one can and adjust the proportions of everything else accordingly
Use one can and don’t adjust the rest because it’s really not that critical
Find the least common multiple between 5.5 and 6 and make eleven batches at once
Give up and order pizza
theres a difference between the true crime community (people who show an academic interest in the workings of criminal minds) and people who edit flower crowns onto dylann roof and write ted bundy reader inserts because they want to be edgy.
listen im literally so annoyed by people who ignore the actions of criminals just because they have a traumatic past,, someone being depressed doesnt automatically make them a precious innocent baby who should be forgiven gosh

“A Day With Ed Kemper” (Part 1)
Fall 1979.
Over the course of 10 hours, on an otherwise sunny Northern California day, I shot 10 rolls of Tri-X & 5 rolls of Kodachrome focused on the prison life of convicted serial killer, Ed Kemper.
Even though I had worked very happily with Leonard Wolf, both as grad student and professional collaborator, I was not enthusiastic about this project and I had made my objections known to Leonard.
The gruesome character of Kemper’s ten murders certify him as deeply disturbed, by any human standard, yet Kemp’s intense mental acuity, masked evidence of psychosis, if he didn’t come pre-packaged with a scrap-book of victims, I don’t know that I would have sorted him out as a potential killer. That was the most frightening element of the day spent shadowing his life. When I was with him, he looked nothing like a killer on the hunt, I wouldn’t have seen it, had I not already known the man he was, by knowing what he had done.
The nature of this assignment required that I’d do more than show up without doing homework. Weeks before our day trip to Vacaville, I spent hours in the library at San Francisco State, pulling together the information that, now, you could find in 2 minutes on the internet. For homework, I read all of the jaw-droopingly shocking quotes, of a thoughtful, reflective, and articulate man who became a monster.
Having seen more than enough horror in my life, none of what I learned attracted me to the project. When I drive by an auto accident, I look only long enough to make sure that there’s someone at the scene taking care of the victims. Once I see that there is, I turn away. I have no fascination with the gruesome or grotesque. Add to that the fact that I grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains, where Kemper stalked and killed his victims, I was turned off to the idea of being in the same space with this person.
Several times I thought that Leonard Wolf doubted that I had the proper open mind-set, to accomplish his mission, until finally, we had a conversation where he spoke about the psychological perversity of Kemper’s childhood, and about his life in virtual isolation — never as a way to attempt to excuse Kemper’s inexcusable acts rather as a way to attempt to understand them. This was bridging a chasm.
That conversation, more than anything else, brought me around to the challenge to tell a dark and complex story in images. I set out to construct a bridge between the monster and the man. Thus began my constant quasi-desperate search to unearth Ed Kemper’s humanity, without becoming an apologist for acts of inhumanity.
I would attempt to see Edmund Kemper, the human being and not try to characterize him as one of the most notorious, violent, terrifying serial killers of my lifetime. We’ll see…jt
More to come…

‘‘A young man named William Blair came perilously close to Jeff Dahmer’s dream-world during the summer of 1986. They knew each other from the bathhouse, where they had had sex on three or four occasions. There had been no arrangement to meet, they had merely bumped into each other by chance and spent some time together. There was no affection between them - their tenderness was functional, invented for the occasion. One day Blair saw Dahmer on the corner of 7th and Wisconsin and they exchanged greetings. Jeff told him that he occasionally rented a room at the Ambassador for a night, and he was just going there now; would Blair join him? The young man accepted, and they went to the hotel together. Blair took a room himself, whether for propriety or comfort it is hard to say, but first went to Dahmer’s room for a drink. He has no memory of what happened next, for he woke up the following morning, lying naked on the bed in his own room, having lost several hours of his life. Jeff told him that he had carried him to his own room in the middle of the night, but he told him nothing more. How he might have used Blair’s sleeping body to furnish the decor of his own disturbed vision was not revealed. William Blair subsequently saw Dahmer a number of times at Milwaukee’s gay bars and saluted him in a friendly manner, but never spent time alone with him again.’‘
- Brian Masters, from The Shrine of Jeffrey Dahmer
On June 8th, 2008, Tomohiro Kato drove a rented truck into a crowd of people at Akihabara in Tokyo, Japan, and then exited the vehicle where he proceeded to stab pedestrians with a dagger. Ultimately 7 people were killed and 10 injured before responding officers were able to apprehend the 25 year old. On March 24th, 2011, Kato was sentenced to death for his crimes.
Just 20 minutes prior to the attack Kato posted online detailing his intentions, stating:
“I will kill people in Akihabara.”
and
“I don’t have a single friend and I won’t in the future. I’ll be ignored because I’m ugly. I’m lower than trash because at least trash gets recycled.”
im still shocked every time by how bright red blood really is
Jfc saying that somebody who drilled holes into someone else's head isn't sadistic because he didn't do it to cause pain is like saying rape isn't sadistic if the rapist didn't want to hurt the victim. He wanted to create zombies for his own sexual pleasure. He wasn't stupid. He knew drilling a hole into their fucking head was going to hurt them. Just because he said he didn't want to hurt them doesn't make it any less sadistic wow.
are you really sending me anons over this jesus. i wasnt saying jeffrey dahmer had zero traces of sadism in him i was just saying he had /other/ /motives/ /as/ /well/. im not saying it wasnt sadistic (atleast i didnt intend to) im just saying it wasnt his only motive ! idk why this is a big deal !
if i see one more aesthetic columbine edit with foster the people's pumped up kicks as a caption im committing
What Makes A Serial Killer
so, because i am starting this new blog on serial killers, i figured what better way to start than with what a serial killer even is anyways.
Se•ri•al Kill•er noun a person who commits a series of murders, often with no apparent motive and typically following a characteristic, predictable behavior pattern. “police have arrested a suspect they believe is a notorious serial killer who terrorized Wichita in the 1970s”
this is the given definition by google and is a very widely accepted definition. although, it is not the only definition ever to be given. in 1998, the first and only federal law to define a serial murderer was passed. the law, entitled Protection of Children from Sexual Predator Act of 1998 (Title 18, United States Code, Chapter 51, and Section 1111), gave the following definition.
"The term ‘serial killings’ means a series of three or more killings, not less than one of which was committed within the United States, having common characteristics such as to suggest the reasonable possibility that the crimes were committed by the same actor or actors."
the definition in its main purpose was to dictate the required characteristics of a case to possess in order for the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) to invite themselves onto the investigation. a Serial Murder Symposium was held to discuss the pros and cons of this definition and, in the end, decided to come up with a simple yet broad term of their own, to be used as a descriptor by law enforcement.
the factors they considered in the making of this definition were number of murders as well as the killers motivation, though the latter was left out of the definition in fear of making it too complex.
according to fbi.gov, a list of qualifications was decided upon alongside the definition at this symposium. they were • one or more offenders • two or more murdered victims • incidents should be occurring in separate events, at different times • the time period between murders separates serial murder from mass murder
the groups at the symposium discussed in depth the difference between a serial and spree killer but in the end, the decided the “cooling off period” which differentiated them was too arbitrary. in the end, most agreed that a unique category of spree murderer held no real use to law enforcement and should not be used.
the definition was decided upon to be this:
Serial Murder: The unlawful killing of two or more victims by the same offender(s), in separate events.
Although many scholars and law enforcers believe that there is more to it than that. for example, many add “with no apparent motivation” to the rest of the qualifiers in the above definition.
people may widely disagree on a definition but most people (im looking at you, hybristophiles) agree serial murderers to be disgusting, low-life, scum. maybe it is our inability to understand on a deep level how someone could kill with such apathy that we have a hard time defining those who do commit such atrocities.

The Voicemail Left by Jodi Arias to Travis Alexander After the Murder
“Hey! Whats going on? It’s almost midnight– uh anyway it’s about the time you’re starting to gear up. I know Leslie called you. So, I already talked to her so, uh you can call her back if you want, but it isn’t necessary. Um my phone died so I wasn’t getting back to anybody. What else, umm…I drove one hundred miles in the wrong direction. Over a hundred miles, thank you very much! So yeah, remember New Mexico? It was a lot like that, only you weren’t here to prevent me from going into the three digits, so fun, fun! I’ll tell you all about that later. Um also–we were talking about– umm, when we were talking about your upcoming travels my way I was looking at the May calendar. Duh. So, I’m a little confused. Umm, but Heather and I are going to see Othello on July 1st and we would love for you to come– to accompany us. Um, I don’t know when the Crater lake event is though, but it’s on the way, so we could do Shakespeare, Crater Lake and the coast. So….if you can make it. If not, we’ll just do the coast and uh Crater Lake. But, umm, let me know, and I will talk to you soon! Bye!”
Jodi had called Travis’ phone three times over the span of about 20 minutes 6 hours following the murder.
The first call is at 11:37 pm and is 31 seconds long.
The second call is at 11:48 pm and she leaves the above voicemail.
The third call is at 11:53 pm and it lasted 16 minutes long.
(The above photograph was taken 3 weeks after the murder at the Shakespeare play Jodi mentions in her voicemail)
