Walk of Regret (full moon) || Leah&Marlena
marlena-ludwick:
After her fight with Truett, Marlena locked herself up in the cabin for the rest of the day with no intention of coming out. She knew she overreacted, but everything she’d said about him bottling things up and acting like nothing happened were true. She’d been thinking about it ever since he’d gotten back. She knew there was such thing as avoiding the subject, but Truett was acting as if nothing had even happened to him and that scared her. It wasn’t healthy to keep things to himself, and she felt that if he’d talk about it he really could move on from it in a good way–and avoiding it and continuously getting crabby with one another was not the way to do it. She knew she shouldn’t have gotten mad at him like she did, but she didn’t know how else to get through to him. Perhaps him taking about it wasn’t the answer, and his idea of coping was ignoring it was actually the better solution, but Marlena was much too stubborn to ever accept that without a fight.
However, as the sun set and the full moon started to illuminate the windows of her cabin, she grew an eerie feeling in her stomach like something bad was going to happen. She didn’t know if it was just the fact that there was a full moon overhead and multiple werewolves roaming around outside, or if she really was detecting that something bad was going to happen that night. She was usually with Truett whenever she didn’t feel safe, but tonight they were both ignoring one another and in separate cabins as a opposed to being in each other’s arms and Marlena feeling at ease. The more she thought about it, the more the idea of going to Truett’s cabin and apologizing to him so she could spend the night over there sounded better and better. Finally, she texted him a quick ‘I’m coming over.’ before standing up and pulling her shoes one.
She was out the door in seconds, her arms crossed over her chest as soon as the cold air of the night hit her. But as soon as she had taken not ten steps, the eerie feeling in the bottom of her stomach multiplied by ten. She looked up at the full moon, wondering what made something so beautiful and simple so terrifying. Was it the fact it could control people to turn into animals? Or the fact it made everyone go nuts if they weren’t wired correctly in the head? Maybe it was the fact she felt like she was being followed. Marlena stopped in her tracks when she heard the sound of footsteps, cracks in the branches beneath their feet and the rustling of the grass. “Who’s there?” She said, looking every which way. “This isn’t fucking funny.” She said, looking around one more time before she finally kept walking towards Truett’s cabin, this time her pace a lot faster.
Leah hurled her phone against the cabin wall, screaming in agony as she fell to the floor, head falling into her hands as her body racked with sobs. Not even bothering to call her, her mother had texted her six words that were enough to ruin her forever. “You’re too dangerous, don’t come home.” It was true that her mother and herself had been feuding since she first presented as a werewolf, her mother had held onto the hope that she would inherit her father’s traits of plain and boring humanity. Alphas were notorious for fighting with one another; female alphas especially. Her hurt quickly dissolved into pure and utter rage, eyes going a deep crimson as the full moon began to take its hold. Instead of restraining herself with sedatives as she usually did, this time she was so blind to her own anger that she didn’t even think of it.
Standing up, she staggered out the cabin door, breathing animalistically and ragged. As her bones began to crack into their wolf form, she let out a howl of pain, which quickly turned into a warning howl, eyes still their deep red as she quickly took her wolfish form. running on pure alpha instincts, she began to sprint through the forest, looking for something, anything to sink her teeth into. Her heart beat fast in her chest as her emotions were quickly clouded over to make way for pure instinct, and nothing else. The wolf’s breathing was heavy and furious as their eyes locked onto a target. Heart beat; 98 bpm. Blood pressure; elevated. Cause; anxiety. curling her teeth back, she snarled in response to the human’s words. They talked fast and angrily; the anxiety, fear. If she could have let out an evil laugh, the wolf would have. She began to circle her prey, growling in a low warning tone that to other wolves would demand their submission. But this human wasn’t submitting, and that wasn’t something that her alpha instincts wouldn’t allow. She continued her stalking, eyes locked on the human. To look away would be submissive, and she wasn’t submissive. She was a dominant wolf, designed to kill.
Growling loudly, she began to bark at the human, stalking closer and closer, eyes focused on the human’s. She snarled, demanding the human submit to her. corning the human, she barked and lunged to get them to fall to the ground, so she could pounce on top of her. Once on top, she growled ferociously and dug her claws into the human’s skin. Baring her teeth, she pressed her teeth against the woman’s neck, taking in her prey’s scent. She let out a huff, the human’s heart rate was now up to 102 bpm, blood pressure even higher, and sweat now appeared on the upper lip, forehead, and underarms. Pupils were dilated, yes. Now she was submissive.
arielleflynnn:
“Sounds like you and your mother have some personal issues that need to be resolved.”
“That’s definitely one way of putting it.”
nxcromancxr:
“Death doesn’t scare me all that much, really.” Rosalie knew the dead would always be there: it wouldn’t be easy to kill her. “I’m glad my face is appealing to them. That’s all a girl can wish for, a face to attract murderers.”
“A lot of us have faces that attract murderers, probably why we’re in here.”
nxcromancxr:
“I’m sure I can adapt. What happened?”
“Kidnappings, death. Watch your back, they’ll like a cute face like yours.”
nxcromancxr:
“This place will definitely take some getting used to.”
“Well you better get used to it quickly, this place has turned into a shit show in a matter of days.”
arielleflynnn:
“Aren’t you lucky. My mom’s specialty was taking us out for kimchi and rice at some of the cheapest restaurants that Korea had to offer. Maybe your mom should teach mine some tricks. I couldn’t even tell you when the last time I ate a home-cooked meal that didn’t taste like dirt and gravel.”
“She didn’t even teach me, said I was beyond hope. But I guess that’s what you get when your mother works at a five star restaurant in which she bangs the owner to get what she wants. Why would she have time for her outcast daughter?”
woodnaomi:
“I-I’m sure you c-could ask for a delivery of pizza.. or.. or something. It’ll take an hour b-but it’ll be worth it.”
“I highly doubt a pizza boy making minimum wage is willing to drive out into bum fuck nowhere to give a weird group of people a pizza.”
silas-holm:
“I, um…I-I’ve been m-makin’ a lot, lately. You– You’re welcome t-to, um, take whatever y-you like. I-I can even m-make– make whatever y-you want.”
Leah blinked, unsure how to respond to the boy’s sudden kindness. “Thanks, man.” She finally said, frowning. “You sound like my mom, she knew that I couldn’t make toast without burning the house down.”
marlena-ludwick:
“Because it’s fun to ride your ass over nothing.”
“You’re lucky I took my meds today. Otherwise, I’d knock your perfect little teeth in.”
arielleflynnn:
“Can’t really complain seeing as I’ve been served far worse than this.”
“My mom is a chef, I’m unfortunately very picky.”
marlena-ludwick:
“Then you have no reason to keep annoying everyone with your consistent bitching. Problem solved.”
“When the fuck have I bitched before? I say one complaint and all of a sudden you’re on my case.”
marlena-ludwick:
“I’m just stating the obvious. There’s no point in bitching over it when it can easily be fixed.”
“I’m way too fucking lazy to make my own food. I’d rather eat shit than make it myself. Besides, it’d taste worse if I did that.”
marlena-ludwick:
“You can always make your own, you know. The kitchen’s not fucking locked.”
“Well, well, well if it isn’t miss snippy.”
“I’m getting really sick of this stupid food they serve us, tastes like shit.”
crystxlx:
“Yes, I’m also a banshee. No, I can’t scream for you. I’m not a lab rat or something.”
“I always love it when people who don’t understand ask you ridiculous questions like that. What idiots.”
alexandra-carson:
“Oh-oh no, those are the worst. Listening to music does help me at times, but preferably I like to sleep it off. Or vent it by tearing off an old notebook if that doesn’t work.”
“I just push it away and pretend it never happened.”
