The Sims 2 Inspired UI for The Sims 4

After making my own UI override, I've been itching to look back in time and try to recreate The Sims 2 UI in TS4, and here it is!

I tried to capture the look & feel as best as possible, so I hope you can enjoy this mod and reminisce a bit c:

General Info

PC: 1.105.345.1020 / Mac: 1.105.345.1220 Older game versions will not work with this mod.

UI overhaul in the style of The Sims 2's UI.

Over 500+ additional icons recolored for CAS & BuildBuy!

Sims 2 style cursor recolors.

Most text are kept in their original color, though they might get changed/updated down the line.

To install:

// Main mod

Download & extract the zip file within your Mods folder.

Install the latest UI Cheats Extension mod and make sure it loads after the Sims 2 UI mod. Current version needed: v1.40

// Extras

Loading screen: download only one loading screen file. Available in: 4:3 - 16:9 - 16:10 aspect ratio.

Opening screen: file to replace the intro TS4 screen. Choose the file that pertains to your game language.

TS2 Cursor: recolored TS4 cursor to match with TS2's cursor. Unfortunately, some cursors are missing their recolors (rotate cam & grab+arrows in CAS).

EA Notif: optional file if you prefer to keep the notification in its original color scheme.

SimCity Transport - City Taxi

A simple CC/mod that adds an interactable taxi for your sims to commute with! Each interaction will cost your sim a non-refundable fee (price may vary). Best used with TOOL to have the taxis on standby anywhere in the world.

This is a static object, so there's no animations for the car itself. Your sim will instead jog towards the selected taxi to initiate the travel interaction.

Also included in this set: a vfx taxi mesh override and a new sound override mod that replaces the lot intro/travel sting with the sound of car driving off for better immersion 🚕

If sim is currently in San Myshuno, Del Sol Valley, or San Sequoia: 1.5x multiplier is applied

If sim is currently in their home neigbourhood: 0.5x multiplier is applied

If sim is currently in one of the 3 cities and currently in their home neighbourhood: both multipliers are applied

Saturday-Sunday and night time commute costs more

50% discount for elders and 70% for teens

for this collection, i created 3 different braided hairstyles (10 versions in total): the imani double braided buns (3 versions), amala high braided ponytails (3 versions), and the maliyah afro with a braided front (4 versions). each hair has a version (v1) without the side braids, a version (v2) that is compatible with yuyulie’s beautifully designed hair beads that can be found in the piercing section, and a version (v3) that has the side braids but with the base game wooden beads. the maliyah afro has an extra version (v4) that is a fuller and slightly larger version of the v1 afro. enjoy! 🫶🏾

Hey all 👋 happy to share this TS4's UI overhaul project that I've been working on for the past month or so, just in time before the end of the year! I'd also like to thank you for following along the WIP posts of this project 😊 Enjoy! :]

General Info

Mod Gallery | Changelogs Current version: Crystal Creations + hotfix patch | Latest mod update: 29 Feb 2024 PC: 1.105.332.1020 / Mac: 1.105.332.1220 Older game versions will not work with this mod.

All major UIs have been properly recolored ^^ From now on, mod updates will focus solely on recoloring new UI elements and updating altered files on future game patches.

Some texts & UI elements will revert to blue due to mod conflict reasons, only if you remove any conflicting files.

Preview what the mod does in the linked mod gallery. Each image will display the associated package file that it's responsible for.

To install:

// Main mod

Before installing/updating, remove any old versions of Chalk'd UI whenever there's a new mod update and clear your caches.

Download & extract the Chalk'd UI zip file within your Mods folder.

Install the latest UI Cheats Extension mod and make sure it loads after the Chalk'd UI mod (if not, a lot of texts will remain blue). Current version needed: v1.40

Read the README file located in 00_Additional Files folder and remove files if you use any conflicting mods. You can go to the Known Conflicts section to see which mods are affected.

papasecure window grills

Just some window grills for your sims' windows because I am Filipino and I find it criminal that they didn't include any in the For Rent expansion pack (which despite my qualms, I'm very excited for) Anyway, the name of the item is Papasecure, which suggests that using this item would possibly add to the security of the home (in Filipino) and is also a play on the words "papa" and "secure" because I just wanted to use the catchphrase, "daddy will protect you", which in this case "daddy" are the window bars (this is so rambly and stupid I'm sorry) If you're curious, "Papa-" is kinda like a prefix that gives words a future tense. So, instead of just "secure," "papasecure" means "going to be secure" or "will eventually be secure." It's like saying that something is on its way to being secure but isn't quite there yet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's basically how I interpret it :)
