If you have ever known anyone with a kink for being hit, or beat up, or raped and you're okay with them, you also gotta be okay with the people who's kink it is to do the hitting, the beating, or the raping. At the end of the day, we're adults playing pretend, and that's it.
With every single sub i have the first thing we ever do is establish the safe word (stoplight system), and the non-verbal safe word in case they can't talk for any reason. If I can't tell where the sub is at, I will ask them point blank what is their color, and if they can't give a response, we stop. The goal is to make the other person feel good, including pain, and the most important part us knowing your subs limits and LISTENING to them. I will *never* hurt a sub in a way that they have not explicitly expresssed interest in.
Makes sense to me. The “getting hit” kink requires a “hitting” kink. It’s like Transformers. Megatron can’t exist without Optimus Prime.
yes Steve, its exactly like Megatron and Optimus Prime from Transformers
A weird discourse all over my timeline now is if referencing, 3D models, and "tracing" still counts as art or if it's cheating and lemme tell you, you people would hate art school
One time I told my professor I didn't use a leaf reference for a tree I was drawing and he made me scrap the entire project. I can't tell you how many times a professor has told me to stop trying to "figure out" a pose and just trace a photo. This is just how it's done guys.
sometimes you just gotta go "man i actually don't give a shit" and keep scrolling. online survival skill 101
Watching queer people debate the law in the uk about arresting people over fiction the uk government doesn’t like as if the next step in censoring ‘obscene’ things isn’t to define queer people as ‘obscene’
Tbhhhh I don’t think governments should be able to control what fiction people consume/publish or what roleplay people do. It’s pretend it’s playing . It’s stuff you do in private . If no actual abuse is involved the police have no business in what you jerk off to or what porn people make.
chat reminder to just write whatever the fuck you want. write that overused trope. write that obscure shit that no one will have heard of. just. do it. your writing is yours stop depriving it of that.
honestly in the era of AI slop it is more important than ever for you to write or draw that incredibly niche/strange/unpalatable thing you want to make. the world needs the unique weirdness of people more than ever
Everyone knows about Chekov's Gun, but let me tell you about Hussie's Gun
Hussie's Gun is sitting on the mantle in act 1. In act 2, people keep commenting on the gun, but nothing happens. In Act 3 Act 1, someone puts flowers in the gun barrel. In Act 3 Act 2, the gun is randomly replaced by a Big Mouth Billy Bass. In Act 3 Act 3, they find the gun again. In Act 4 Act 1, they realize the gun was never loaded. In Act 4 Act 2, they fire the gun anyway, and the flowers still lodged in the barrel kill a villain who just happens to be allergic to flowers. In Act 4 Act 3, they lose the killer flower gun through a time portal. In act 4 Act 4 Act 1, they realize they need it again, so they steal it from the past and replace it with a big mouth billy bass...
In Act 6, they turn on the big mouth billy bass, and it starts firing the missing bullets everywhere.
Homestuck is perpetually one or two cuils weirder than you ever expect it to be.
The idea of “but everyone knows that” needs to stop.
I saw a post about someone chiding Millennials for not knowing about JKRowlings transphobia, and asking how it is at all possible that people can exist in the world and the internet and, you know, not know.
Which I mean, I get. It is so present in so many of my online spaces that it seems astounding that someone could simply be ignorant! It feels impossible!
But let me tell you a story:
I went on a girls trip with a bunch of friends. All of us are rather incredibly liberal and all of us are incredibly online.
One girl would not stop talking about Harry Potter.
At one point, another girl asked her why she was ok with supporting it, and she had no real clue that JK Rowling was at all transphobic. She had heard that she likes to support Lesbian causes and thought “oh ok cool!” And that was it. She was AGOG with the news and rather horrified.
I must once again emphasize that she was an incredibly online person. She’s a foodie and a restaurant blogger.
Later in the trip we were picking restaurants and I suggested one I found on Google, and she gasped at me. Actually gasped, asking how I could ever be okay picking that one.
The shock must’ve been on my face, because she then told me all of the shitty things that restaurateur does. He abuses staff. Underpays them. Fires them on a whim. Is known for being one of the worst people to his employees in the entire restaurant business on this coast.
And she was so shocked I had never heard of this. Because in her mind, I was just as online as her. And in her online world, EVERYONE knew about this guy.
So I think the moral of this story is: always approach the other person with some empathy. Even online people, even people you think MUST know about how bad people are, may not have heard. It may truly be just them being on a different sphere of the internet than you.
So be gentle, be kind when letting people know they might not have heard about the cancellation of XYZ person. Don’t assume that everyone knows all the same info as you.
By all means, let them know so they can make informed decisions, but being kind will go a lot further than attacking them for some info they might not know yet.

In the second image he has a more pleasant expression and is saying “I’m glad I told you that.”

i've been watching the japanese dub of yugioh dm for the first time and it's somehow even gayer than the 4kids dub. the dialogue here has been only slightly altered for comedic effect, lmao.
(this art was carefully referenced and color-picked using screenshots from the show. it counts as a study :b)
Crazy how many people want characters in fiction to speak and act like they’ve had 20 hours of intensive therapy. Could NOT be me I want these bitches fucked up insane
my friend briar and i lovingly call this one ‘therapy speak joker’ and it almost caused her to drop biological samples one time
i think the joker should start talking like this for real. no other character should do this only the joker. i want batman to have to deal with this
I'm curious--how do you guys go about creating your OCs?
the real answer to almost every "does [identity A] belong in [identity B] spaces" question is actually just "these spaces are informal social groups and if you're cool you can hang, don't worry about it"
You can be Homer Simpson at the lesbian bar. It's fine. Don't worry about it.
I think that’s part of what makes the payoff for this joke one of the best in the series
you’re supposed to think Homer is just being his usual idiot self and is about to realize the obvious (har har har he doesn’t belong there!)
but no!
props to them for not only making the actual joke a funny misdirection, but topping it off with this (surprisingly progressive) stinger:
a pattern i notice is
person : hey i used to be a bigot/abuser but i made active efforts to be a better person and i'm now not that person anymore
comments : ok do you want a pat on the back for the bare fucking minimum. fuck you. evil irredeemable person
like you realize that people can be raised into harmful ideologies and not question them until later in life and that it takes introspection and active efforts to understand your harmful actions and make change to your behavior right
it may be the bare minimum for civil behaviour, but actually getting yourself out of harmful mindsets is fucking hard. stop pretending it isn't. you are not immune to propaganda. you're not infallible.
can we stop demonizing the people who did what their abusers refused to do.
even if its later in life.
no that doesn't mean no consequences for past actions but damn, y'all don't seem to want people to get better. You want "perfect" victims and honestly I'm tired of it.
these tags are so important to me and deserve to be smack dab in my blog forever
Also no they're not saying it cuz they want a pat on the back , they're saying 'hey my story is evidence that it is possible to make these changes.'
Don't punish the behavior you want to see
in any given fictional situation, there is exactly one character who is At Fault and every other character involved is a passive victim. media literacy is when you correctly identify and condemn this character
i tracked down the reddit post because i wanted to see what the hell this guy was annotating like 30 pages in
i do NOT know french but i applaud this guy who seems to be attempting to decode the book as if the whole thing were cryptography
#he is absolutely trying to figure out the dimensions of the house#unhinged behavior but also somehow a completely valid way to read this shitass book

I feel like this is simultaneously the worst way to engage with this narrative and the closest to the intended experience.
Dude's out here trying to solve House of Leaves. I give it to page 120 before the actual minotaur gets him.
he's adding an extra layer. he's reading this book better than any of us
