Anyways. Key points!

- Optimus is a Decepticon

- he doesn’t definitively know who empurataed him but he has suspicions *cough cough* the decepticons *cough cough*

- he can’t talk because his voice got torn out (there’s more, but I’m lazy and this is key points) and is in chronic pain! He needs to lay down after going on a walk, and he can’t even scream in pain cause he don’t got a voice to scream with L bozo

- he’s scared of Megatron who lowkey forgets he exists

- he’s buddy buddy with shockwave because they are the only victims of empurata around, and so they got this whole “you know what it’s like to me, and I know what it’s like to be you.” situation… shockop…. Toxic shockop WHO SAID THAT? me I did AAJDHASLDJ

- he got empurataed before he got to earth so his team doesn’t know anything about him, and they think he’s dead 👍

- he’s basically a disabled errand boy who is so under-utilised, while going through a messy situationship and also Stockholm syndrome.

- he has a diary that will become significant later

- the decepticons are not good guys, they are just Optimus’ safest option rn. They are monsters, but they are safe monsters 🗣️

CHRONIC PAIN. OPTIMUS IS IN PAIN ALL THE TIME! RAHHHHHH

Anyways. His chronic pain is a full body thing, but the most heavily impacted areas are his knees, wrists, and neck. Optimus’ entire body is kinda fried, but that’s not the focus of today my swag lords.

Optimus doesn’t have a visible wrist, but it is there, under all the plating (appendix 1 and 2) and is held in place by bolts so he’s kinda just locked like that, unable to rotate his servos. The design of his forearms also stops most of the range of motion oh his digits, so he’s only really got claw machine fingers.

His knees are built on a spring system, and always try to spring back to fully extended (appendix 3), so it hurts to walk, or sit. It hurts a lot to sit, which is why he lies down usually! The work around for this is just a custom chair that allows him to have his knees unbent 🗣️🗣️

His knees are also trying to over extend at any given moment, it’s not swag. I dunno how it works fully, cause like. I’m not an engineer, but I do know that the springs are too tight.

His neck is just too thin for his big ass head, so at the end of the day when his tolerance and capacity to deal with the pain dies, he gets really floppy and lethargic cause his head is heavy asf and his neck ain’t built for it (appendix 4). If he falls over, he needs help standing up, or he just has to drag himself to a staircase so he can get his head elevated to help the standing up again. (Appendix 5 /j)

Like what is his thought process since empurata victims has this whole thing of the absence of emotion, but I guess there's like left over?? some sort of foggy way grasping way to feel for them? TFA Shockwave feels like he has some semblance of emotion but he is blank in some sort, is it like that for Optimus? On another note, what does he usually do for the Decepticons :0

So from my understanding of empurata from idw, it doesnt actually like, directly impact emotional capacities, shockwaves emotionlessness (in idw) is from shadowplay so I’m running with that theory, so op has like, fresh ptsd and so has a hella amount of anxiety/depression.

He’s very nervous, and because he can’t really speak with anyone, and is significantly smaller and obviously different, he becomes very antisocial and aggressive (?). He’s very brash and rude as a defence mechanism!

The way he thinks is purely fight or flight for the most part, very distrusting. When he starts becoming friends with shockwave he relaxes a little, and when he befriends megatron he relaxes a bit more, but that ‘I’m going to die’ never really leaves. He would 100% store energon away in hidey holes cause he’s convinced himself that at any moment everything will flip on its head, so he’s building up caches for the (what he thinks is) inevitable flee.

And as for what he does in his day to day! He’s in chronic pain cause whoever empurated him didn’t do a good job, and nothing got connected correctly, so he can’t do much, as he can’t stand up for too long, and has to take consistent breaks during whatever tasks he’s doing. The decepticons know he’s struggling, but he can’t really talk to them so they don’t know what is wrong. He kinda just is an errand boy.

“Check the weather forecast, and if it’s going to rain close the windows on the 4th to 12th floor”

Eventually they figure out he’s in pain all the time and they give him some pain killers. After that he works in public service, looking after Decepticon folks who aren’t actively fighting, and other miscellaneous activities! Still taking breaks in between jobs cause he’s gotta lie down, he might not be able to feel the pain but it’s still there ykwim

I knew i had more to say. He's very 'the horrors persist, but so do i'. sure he's nervous and avoidant, but if someone tries to confront him he stands his ground as much as he can. Sure hes bracing himself on the wall and wheezing because he can't keep his circulation calm, sure he's half their size and weaponless, but he will still stand his ground. kinda roach-y. I need to talk more about his chronic pain. i will do that in another post.

so optimus right, walking around at night scoping out exits and entries, plotting escapes he can't do cause he will fall over and die if he tries jumping, and he sees a decepticon at the end of a hall he's scoping, and he's panicking, and the decepticon is staring him down, and they just have a staring contest. ofc, cause optimus is all messed up n shi, the decepticon is seeing just this small mutilated cybertronian wheezing at the end of the dark asf hall and staring at them with nothing but hate based fear, so they just... back away. that's not their problems. they probs have nightmares over it lmao. i know i would.

"Damn. that goes hard asf" and forgot about it, and then was walking around oneday and overlaid optimus on it in my brain and went "Oh sick i wanna look at that again" realised it wasn't actually optimus and just went "This means empurata optimus is free game, amen" i chose tfa because there is more bend in the lore iykwim? Like, optimus and megatron not being friends or whatever they have going on, is just so fun to play with, and so i think it fits on the more outlandish ideas i like to enforce. also the corruption of the autobots. very yummy from a story perspective. But yeah, this au came about cause i forgor who a fanart was of lmao
