I don’t know the details on Gooseworx, all I ever seem to manage to find is feminist rant stuff over messages that are CLEARLY satire.

I think what I posted on my Zooble blog is probably relevant to both situations

I think ppl have a lot of trouble keeping in perspective who the huge threats are (people who uphold systems of racism, people taking out DEI, etc) and waste a good bit of energy over stuff that simply isn’t worth the energy. Like, I’m not saying it’s merely a case of ‘oh you’re being a keyboard warrior’ you’re allowed to say whatever you want, but how much of that energy is actually supporting organizations like, say, the ACLU, that are fighting the real fights. We are all at least on the same page that calling to boycott A CARTOON or calling fans of said cartoon guilty by association is wild behavior, right?

ah so they didn’t actually “apologize”. hm.

I’m not sure what we’re supposed to actually DO about that, though. They’ve already gotten the negative social feedback for it and most likely they will be watching their words going forward.

I think that those stuff being jokes doesn't exactly take away the racism, but thats my opinion.

I think you can do both? Support organisation that do real good and also call out average people that even if they arent real threat, are still acting badly. So that they will hopefully learn to change.

Oh yeah no calling out fans that are just watching the show is dumb. 😭 the only fans that should be called out are the one that started saying racist stuff. THOSE FANS are the only one being bad. But the average fan (aka 99% of the community im pretty sure (or at least I hope...)) are innocent and shouldn't be attacked for being fan of an innocent show even if made by a not so great team of person. The action of the VAs + goose and stuff SHOULDNT stop people from being able to be fans of this amazing (pun intended) show.

I don't even think boycotting a FREE show is even possible 😭 And boycotting a show isnt exactly the smartest thing, they already got payed. Its like not when people are boycotting stores and stuff, those type of action do have impact. But a show ? That doesn't work like that.

Yeah, theres not much that can be done now. Hopefully they learned (tho I sadly am a little too pessimistic to really belive that)

Just acknowledge that that happened; that people were hurt by it and are allowed to be angry.
