An old pic of a cow (unfortunately a cow meant for slaughter š)

YES Iāve been chased and hissed at by a Canada goose but it doesnāt make me hate them guess Iām just built different
Are there any active Tumblr vegans still out there?
Vegan Pumpkin Spice Parfait
The fastest way for me to piss off a non vegan who is arguing with me is by telling them that actually yes, I have worked with livestock in farm settings.
Iāve seen animals being slaughtered. They are terrified before it happens. They know.
Iāve taken calves away from their mothers a few hours after being born. On a āhumaneā, family owned dairy farm, and at a school with high welfare standards. They cried out for hours.
Iāve held a piglet as someone else castrated them and removed their tail without anesthetic. I cried as classmates laughed at me. I still remember their screams.
Iāve seen sheep thrown on the ground prior to being shorn. Afterwards they have cuts and bruises, and they are scared.
Iāve seen hens killed because they were egg bound. They were egg bound because we bred them to produce eggs at such a rate that their bodies give out.
I worked extensively with Thoroughbreds bred for racing. Iāve seen them die on the track. Iāve seen them die in foaling. Iāve seen them shipped to auctions frequented by kill buyers.
I held baby bunnies in my hand and have had to put them back in their hanging metal cages with their mother who can barely move around. Knowing that these precious souls will be slaughtered for food and I canāt stop it.
Iām vegan because animal exploitation is never humane. Iām vegan because Iāve seen it or done it with my own hands. And Iām so, so sorry I didnāt do anything sooner.
People donāt realise that many vegans are vegan because of their own experiences as well as what they have heard secondarily from others. Everything I have seen and done, and I have taken part in some pretty horrifying things, has solidified my belief in veganism, not weakened it. Iām not sure how non-vegans could possible think having first-hand experience in animal agriculture and exploitation would do anything but that.
āI cannot believe we live in a world where I have to ask my friends to stop imposing pain and death upon other beings when there is no need to. I cannot believe I have to ask, and I cannot believe the answer is ever ānoā.ā

Me when spreading the vegan message.Ā
Did you know? In the US, there are no federal laws that protect animals during their lives on factory farms. Fortunately, we can stand up for animals at every meal by choosing vegan foods. š
Reblog/like if you have a vegan blog.
Iām looking for more blogs to queue from š
Be kind to all animals. Go vegan.
