Regressor Hercules and Caregiver Meg headcanons
Herc usually regresses to a baby or toddler age, usually 1-3, sometimes he won’t regress that far but more often than not he’s just a sweet baby
Regresses primarily due to stress. Poor boy was 16 when he found out he was a god and had to save Greece when he was only 18, that’s a lot of pressure
Sensitive baby, he’s usually very happy but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t cry very easily. Teasing is only allowed in moderation, and only Meg can do it because he knows when she’s joking, usually
He cries and needs lots of cuddles when he falls down, not because he’s actually hurt, most of the time, it just scared him
Sucks his thumb a lot, it comforts him so Meg doesn’t care, as long as his hands are clean
He loves playing with Pegasus when he’s regressed, Pegasus isn’t exactly the brightest horse so he doesn’t exactly know to be gentle most of the time. So even though he doesn’t really get hurt, there’s lots of kisses from Meg involved
Always hungry. He’s probably one some sort of diet so he looks the part Phil wanted, but little Herc doesn’t have the self control for that. Give the poor baby a snack or two, he has a lot of muscle to feed
Sarcasm is both a deflection and a love language for Meg so it was a bit of an adjustment to not use it so much around Hercules while he was regressed, he just doesn’t understand it
Meg actually knows how to be stern and say no, Hercules almost always listens anyways, but on occasion she has been known to give into puppy dog eyes. It’s just good Hercules hasn’t really realized he has that skill yet
Hercules is a demigod but that won’t stop Meg from being protective. Especially if someone were to make him cry. They’d learn very quickly that maybe there’s something scarier than the hero of Greece
I’m a sucker for friends and family being supportive so Phil, his human parents, and Zeus and Hera know. Zeus and Phil probably weren’t too keen on the idea initially but quickly warmed up to it
Meg and Phil have come up with many escape plans for if Hercules is regressing or just overwhelmed when other people are around, Phil is usually in charge of actually getting everyone away so Meg can comfort her baby
Meg’s favorite thing to do when he’s regressed is go on walks, usually somewhere with lots of plants and animals so she can ask him what they are, what color they are, or what sound they make
Hercules doesn’t care that much as long as he gets to be with Meg. Especially if they can cuddle or hold hands, but he does also like getting to answer the questions about the plants and animals
If he can’t be with Meg or isn’t feeling particularly clingy that day, he’s content to just play in the grass or pick flowers for when he can be with Meg
