I know it gets lonely sometimes not seeing others that look like you in the agere communities. But I’m so glad you are here and I’m so proud of you for expressing yourself. Regardless of people who say “You shouldn’t be doing this.” Or “POC’s don’t do stuff like this.” You have a right to do things that bring you joy. I see you and you’re doing amazing! You deserve to regress as much as anyone else you are more than other people’s opinions!

Your carer comes home from a long day of work to see their adorable puppy taking a nap on the couch!

As they gently scoop you into their chest you let out a angry huff and whine. “Oh I know pup but let’s get you somewhere extra comfy to nap.” Another huff escapes you but you don’t resist the attention.

You feel a soft pillow flush to your head and the gentle pats from your carer.

Their kisses feel like cartoon bandages on my bloody knees.

My tears fall down my face like April showers before I am quickly shushed and scooped into their arms.

My heart beat slows to match their own, synchronizing into a rhythmic song.

My sniffles are sharp and laced with sorrow as they sing to me, swinging and cradling me to the melody.

I could stay like this forever, so small and sweet, worried about nothing but wood blocks and bath time.

I need my baba, I want my baba…
