hello everyone welcome to puppys the comic!

this is a comic about a handful of fantastical and colorful characters having very mundane but also emotionally affecting high jinks in their daily lives.

my name is arjeshh and i draw and write puppys! i also like to do music and make videos :)

jimbo and lucy get ready to look at stars together. lucy takes care of squid.

this is it puppy fans… the hiatus begins now. this strip is also a prequel to issue #5! a personal & fan favorite <3 and the title is a reference to my favorite (?) car seat headrest song.

thank you especially to the tumblr audience that's built up for this comic from basically nothing. i hugely appreciate all the rb's and kind words you all have shared on this platform. it really means a lot :,)

thank you for your support on puppys as a whole! i will miss drawing jimbo, lucy, watcher, squid, and gang in these comics for sure, but they will certainly not be forgotten.

let me know if you have thoughts on this issue, any past ones, or the comic strip as a whole. i’d love to know! :)

though “when” is hard to say, i do sincerely hope to revisit these characters with a renewed sense of vision and flair in the future.

a little melodramatic one today, as it is the second to last mainline puppys comic for a while. but fret not! guest comics start next weekend :) i'm super excited for you all to see them <3 the title is a reference to the final line of "the prophet" by kahlil gibran. it was very significant to me when i was 16 !

lucy's birthday is technically in july (she's a cancer !) but u can wish her hbd i won't be mad 🤭

this is a prequel comic to all of puppys! i try to denote past and present through lucy's hair, so if u see past comics w/o her dyed hair it likely takes place before she's met jimbo. i post comics non-chronologically wrt puppys canon, and i'm not sure if that was clear 🫡 didn't add a character card this time because i wanted to draw lucy's mom, but didn't have time :P her name is Callie! hope u enjoyed this lucy lore dump i love her sm <3

color and composition wise, this is one of my fav ones i’ve done in a while! enjoyed drawing lucy’s face :) she is so much a musician in my mind, but she only plays guitar in ONE comic 😭 had to fix that! inspired by personal experience & dedicated to all my performer and musician friends. i am enchanted by u all 🫶🏽

i love this season! the end of the year is always an interesting period of change, i find :P i’ve been busy w personal stuff the past few months too. thus i will make up the month i missed either later this year or early next year ! either way, stick around and look forward to it 🫶🏽 we’re almost done with 2 full years of puppys !!

had lots of fun coloring this one, it was tough to figure out the color values tho! in retrospect i realize the drawings are very inspired by the film “i saw the tv glow”, but these two are not in as dire of a situation 😭. sebby and angel are childhood friends btw !
