Three different versions of Jerry Robinson’s cover for Detective Comics #68 (1942), Two-Face's first cover appearance, with focus on details. The first is a scan of the original cover via Heritage Auctions, the second is from the Batman Arkham: Two-Face collection from 2015, and the third is from Batman: The Golden Age vol 4 (2018).
I recall recently learning about the shoddy way DC used to treat its archival material, but while I don’t recall the details, the second set really shows how poorly they preserved the original artwork. The version from just three years later is a marked improvement, but personally, I think current recolorings and remasters lack some vital aspects of the original newsstand versions.
Asthmatic Harvey, my beloved.
I don't even know how me and my friend came to this conclusion but it is so canon in our minds. Bruce will alwaya carry an inhaler and eyedrops for the man even as batman,,, (he will also force the robins to do the same)
What is a dollar, im not usamerican
two sides of the same old coin.
Ratcatcher collection coming along...slowly...
I drew a hand with a glass of wine to the riddler today when I was fooling around. I think it was funny, so I wanted to post it... Mhehe
BUT HERE'S WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT! I wanted to show off a little bit about the wallet my father made for me. I just want to show how talented he is, because he won't put his own work anywhere for anything
He's been making leather goods for quite a while, but he seems to be doing a SO COOL job. I love my dad <3
Catwoman Redesign!
Cat camo
Tactical gear, which is probably more practical for burglary than a skintight bodysuit (my Batman wears a gimp suit so they sort of swapped)
Carries an MP5, grappling gun and burner phone
my beautiful wife
bros are tipsy af
Drew this some time ago when i had strong feelings about the Red Robin cowl suit
No idea what I'm doing but attempted to fuck around with watercolors
✨✨ DANCE DANCE DANCE DANCE DANCE ✨✨
Just to post more examples specifically...I wont get over the utter mischaracterization Ratcatcher went through immediately after his debut. What was going on that compelled them to remove any and all personality and motive from his character...where in the original did he mention an obsession with rats breeding and taking over the WORLD yall...where...because I see a character more obsessed with justice and retribution, in a very two-face, gone-too-far sort of dramatic way. Someone who feels his treatment was unjust and therefore he will bestow that unjust treatment onto the people responsible for it. With a little pied piper gimmick on top of it...
I just reposted something about this but I have more comparisons(beyond the first 2) to shove at everybody...more commentary at the end it's Ratcatcher tangent night
His original dialogue is so much fun
Sudden weird obsession with rat breeding?? Which was not present before??
He had such a particular attitude...so much personality...I'll take him calling them Boys over "ratties" any day 💔 feels more specific to him idk..
Dude suddenly exclusively cares about rats in his situation
For he is NOT in the best of humors 😾
Okay I do really like the idea that his rats carry diseases which do not kill them, but that he can spread to his targets like a plague I LOVE that idea actually. Again, his motives are. Not there but this idea is inch resting
You probably get my point by now...I still think arkham shadow is the only source I've found since his debut that really understood how missed the potential was...I cherish those few minutes of screentime...
