Creative name needed for new social media management system
Project type: Company Naming - Prize £100
Creative Brief
We need a creative name for a new, easy-to-use social media management system for independent small businesses that manages posting content to their online channels including their blog, email lists, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and other social media.
What does your company do?
We are creating an easy-to-use social media management system for independent small businesses with 50 or less employees to manage posting content to their online channels including their blog, email lists, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and other social media. The high-level business concept would be the key features for a small business from HootSuite with the ease-of-use of Posterous (acquired by Twitter and no longer active, see http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/turn-your-em... for some background).
Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?
Yes, the .COM must be available.
Our customers are small independent businesses with 50 or less employees that are not part of a national chain. They are typically local businesses (restaurants, real estate companies, retail, services, etc.) with a unique brand and identity. They are innovative and popular with their customer base and have already started actively using or are just beginning to use social media to promote themselves. They do not have a dedicated marketing person so either outsource this work or give the work to employees with other primary jobs.
What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?
Since there are so many different competitors on the market we want the name to stand out and convey that we are the "smart" choice. We would like to convey the idea of building a connection to your customers. We would also like to convey the idea that the system is easy-to-use.
List the names of your top three competitors
HootSuite - http://hootsuite.com
SproutSocial - http://sproutsocial.com
Buffer - http://bufferapp.com
What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?
Since we are aiming at small businesses, we would like the name to convey a feeling of being approachable, friendly, helpful.
Are there any words or phrases you especially like or hate?
The name can be experiential or invented but probably not functional (too literal, things with Social in it) or evocative (too hard to brand).
Do you have other info you want to share?
