“Well that is an excellent question, for curiosity’s sake; suffice to say, I’m not quite just an old man with flashy robes or luminescent veins. I imagine both of our curiosities will have to do without for quite sometime however. I imagine I’ll be depriving the world of joy for quiet sometime yet.”
“Indeed it is. I only wish I had been able to spend more time with her before she passed." Liszka studied the man in front of her with an inquisitive tilt of her head. The man who stood before her was an ardent user of will from the markings she coud see on his body. Hero blood ran in both their veins, she was sure of it. Noticing Hobson lurking in the corner of the throne room she smiled graciously at her guest her eyes flickering over to their uninvited one, "Let’s adjorn to my study; I think our conversation would be better suited with privacy.”
The Queen walked away from the will user to address her nosy butler. “Hobson, please have one of the maids make up a room for our guest and some refreshments brought up to my study. Our guest and I need to discuss some matters A L O N E." She watched her butler scurry away under her steady, intimidating stare. "I am sorry about that. He likes to stick his nose in my business far more than I am comfortable with. A deep sigh escaped her lips, "My study is just up the stairs; please follow me.”
The will user watched as the new hero queen did as queens were expected to, rule and scold those under them quiet efficiently and diplomatically. “The room won’t be necessary, I don’t intend to stay the night; besides, home is never really far off for me nowadays.” Garth crossed his arms and followed the monarch’s direction and begin to make way for the study.
Finery and luxury, yet laced with the ever foreboding sense of enclosement, something the old hero queen had often expressed distaste for yet still she came to claim the Castle where her sister had been slain. The will user often wondered where the room was now after so much remodeling; he wished to pay respects to the child who’d been killed due to his lack of insight all those years ago.
“My congratulations on your victories, majesty, it seems someone watches over you the same way someone watched over your mother.”
“I remember one of my last trips to sea quite VIVIDLY– My ship had barely made it to port under the weight of my spoils– And then only after had we disposed of those less VALUABLE. It was a pity to see my new brides SINK into the ocean– But their SIZABLE attributes rendered them unfeasibly heavy– And I’d already tossed non-essential crew members into the ever undulating arms of the KRAKEN.”
“I wonder if Hammer could manage to toss something at you right now all the way from Samarkand...”

Liszka had spent a fortnight reading through her mother’s journals trying to locate the other Heroes often mentioned throughout the text. She had an inkling that Reaver may very well be the former Mayor of Bloodstone and thus the Hero of Skill. But the other two were far harder to track down. There former places of residence either assimilated or lost to the abstract record keeping of her people. It was frustrating to say the least.
When Hobson announced that a visitor from Samarkand was here to meet with her. It piqued her curiosity and hope. Perhaps this person could shed some light on what happened to the Hero of Will once he returned to the land he came from.
Descending the stairs to the throne room, Liszka greeted the foreign delegate in a friendly manner.
“Welcome to Albion. You had quite a long journey; would you rather rest or get straight to business?”
The hooded will user was met with the usual response one of his appearance was to get. Mystery, appalled gasps and the usual murmurs as he passed through the city. The gate guards had all but threatened to shoot him until he told them he was an envoy from Samarkand, here to thank the Hero Queen for vanquishing the darkness’ assault on Albion. The only annoyance came from the butler that seemed to enjoy his position of being the highest servant of nobility, seemingly making up for his lack there of as his behavior reminded him of a rogue who’d attempted to take his life.
When he was greeted by the new Hero Queen he had to do a double take, he nearly thought he saw the young Sparrow who’d fluttered into the Spire; the thought causing a slight flair of his will lines lighting up the face under his hood. He lowered his hood and adjusted his monocle as the monarch descended the stairs.
“Rest is an extravagance people like us get relatively little od, I’m sure your mother would quite agree and is getting enough sleep for the both of us now, majesty.”

“Grading papers,” he answered tersely, practically stabbing his pen through the parchment before him as he planted a large C+ at the top of it. “As you can no doubt see.” He wasn’t quite sure what the other was getting at. He’d been teaching for centuries now, and it had never been called into question before. “I am no different from when we last met, my occupation has not changed.”
“Oh it may not but I believe you have, quite remarkable for one such as you,” the scholar chuckled deeply before adjusting his monocle. “What exactly is the subject you teach again? The proper title alludes me.”
Xiro rolled his eyes skyward. “You’re absolutely right. Teachers are always busy.” He knew very well that that was not what his fellow academic was referring to, but he would not give such a barbed comment the time of day. “I’ve just been doing my job. The usual.”
“Teacher is it? My, my, curious how you’ve changed,” Garth adjusted his monocle and looked at the form he was taking. “What would your job happen to be this century.”

“Well, well, look what the cat dragged in,” Xiro hummed, looking up from his work to greet the man as he entered the office. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I hope things find you well.” How long had it been exactly? Had to have been several months since they last spoke.
“How things find me is irrelevant, I’ve come to see what mischief you have been up to.” The will user walked forwards with his arms in the usual position of being crossed and held against his body. “Beings like you aren’t known for being idle.”
“You know if I could replicate the barriers from the Spire, I might not have to deal with unwelcomed guests as often.”
