Sometimes I remind myself that both Dan and Phil will get more mature and leave YouTube. They won’t be attending SiTC or Playlist Live anymore. Their jobs are as radio show hosts. They’ll find a girl who they think is best for them and get married, move into separate houses, have a family and be happy. I just hope they’ll think of YouTube and who they were, AmazingPhil and danisnotonfire before they take their last breath.
thinking of this queen today </3
obsessed with this post because while op (most likely a teenager back then) forced themselves to think of this future scenario as a “happy” one, the entire thing is entrenched with a devastating wistfulness. that’s how many teenagers think of adulthood: growing out of your youthful interests, settling into conformist ideals and models of life. but it really doesn’t have to be like this. dan and phil have changed from the people they were in 2013 - that’s what just happens to people - but also they haven’t. i mean obviously there’s the fact that they were a couple the entire time, but even beside that, they’re still the same nerdy guys. they didn’t turn into different people altogether.
that’s what happens to everyone - we grow up and change but adulthood does not mean leaving everything we were passionate about behind. and we turn up gayer than expected.
