I think Susie is homeless

So at the end of the chapter, Susie asks Kris to walk her home. Instead of going to her actual place, we go to castle town. When we get to the closet door, she says "Thanks for walking me home, Kris." This implies that wherever she lives is so miserable that she sees Castle Town as her home instead.

There are many pieces of dialog that show that Susie struggles with food and money. In the weird route, she describes to Kriss how Noelle gave her a roll of cash when she said she didn't have any money at the festival. Susie says, "I dunno if I've ever even... Seen. That much money." In addition, Susie also describes using the leftover food from the stands at the end of the festival to create free meal, and calls it "living in luxury," implying that she uses food like this often. I also think that her habit of eating chalk and clay is further evidence of her malnutrition.

Of course this can all be interpreted as Susie just being poor in general, but I think we can take this interpretation further. If we take her comments on Castel Town literally, we can come to the conclusion that Susie does not have a home.

The main reason I think this is just because I find it interesting. I've never seen a lot of homeless characters in fiction, especially in a story that is not explicitly about homeless. Usually they're one-off characters or gag characters, and they're always adults. It would be really groundbreaking if such an extremely popular game had a character like this.
