all this shit with kanye has just solidified that jews aren’t safe on either end of the political spectrum. conservatives are finally denouncing him but other than that are doing nothing. progressives are making excuses for why jews actually shouldn’t be worried about what he’s saying and that we shouldn’t be “centering ourselves.” kanye went live on the air and said he loved nazis and thinks hitler was good. he tweeted a photo of his campaign logo and it was a swastika inside a Star of david. he said the holocaust didn’t happen. and everyone’s response has been “well technically the swastika is a symbol of peace” and “well technically jews are all european converts” and “well you guys keep bringing up the holocaust when it was forever ago, you don’t actually face any discrimination now” or “well you’re white so any antisemitic rhetoric doesn’t actually hurt you, it’s just rhetorical antisemitism not real material harm.”

went on a rant abt this the other day.
jewish friends and i consider it the “gentile holiday”, as it is the one that makes them feel as though they are being accommodating and respectful of our culture because we have the potential to take off for christmas which is “basically chanukah, and their most important holiday too”
it is a minor holiday celebrating a war victory and an oil miracle.
but of course, we never talk about the other minor holidays. because they don’t intercept with christian holidays.
i’ve had people argue with me at length that western society is not christian-centric. this alone should be enough evidence.
NGL this whole thing has a very dark comedic tone when I look at it
idk abt the comedy part but yeah… if you check all the ones that say “no” to we’re alive it tells a story. also the amount of ones that say they tried to kill us. the history of antisemitism is long and bloody. it’s pretty heartbreaking to remember sometimes. how many we have lost.
a lot of people don’t realise that chanukah was an attempted assimilation too. it’s all for celebrating until we celebrate defeating goyim in their repeated assimilation attempts.
ironically, this is the holiday that ended up getting assimilated so thoroughly. that people think it’s our most important holiday.
to this very day our culture is distorted and twisted by gentiles. if you aren’t jewish and are reading this. take this opportunity to acknowledge the assimilation in our society. listen to jewish people this year as we tell you of our history.
