Lapis frowns. Thanks for callin’ me dumb, Amethyst. “It’s…a little more complicated than that, Amethyst.” She sighs. “I know that I should move on—it’s not like I’m ever going back. And it’s not really the people that I miss. It’s the place. I couldn’t care less about the other gems from back home—they never did anything but hurt me.” She waves a hand through the air, focusing on it instead of the stars. They’re making her too sad.
“I’ll find a new home soon enough. Maybe.” And this ‘pile a’trash’ might just be it.
“Your down-and-out attitude is a real bummer. Why don’t you try smilin’ for once, huh? I think it’d do you some good. And, heck, it might even give your face muscles a work out! Garnet says those are important, soooo...” Amethyst rubs the back of her neck. “Listen... I know leavin’ stuff behind is hard. But if you leave that place in the dust where it belo--ngs, then what do you think’ll happen to you?” Again, she doesn’t wait for an answer. “You’ll be better off! And you’ll have a pile a’junk to keep you company, too. It’s a win-win.”
