Y'know. A lot of people forget they can just. make stuff. There's nothing stopping you from writing a book, drawing a comic, animating a show, recording an album, or coding a game.

With this knowledge, you should also know that you can add underrepresented characters to your story. You can totally make someone fit in with the plot (it's your story, after all).

there's something about the fact that almost every male character/reader smutfic with a male reader-insert makes the reader transmasc that makes me wonder if it's all actually written by transmascs or not. there's many times i've seen where it's not even in the tags or fic description that the reader is supposed to be transmasc. you just get hit by said terms (vagina, boobs, yada yada) like halfway through and honestly, it's pretty dysphoria-inducing.

i won't lie it's starting to feel just a tad bit targeted (either that or people somehow can't comprehend how sex would work that's not penis-in-vagina)

Being a trans man is wild because I'll see cis gay men talking about how they grew up thinking something was wrong with them because they never saw gay people, in media or real life, being treated as anything other than a joke. And queer people et al are like 'yeah that's so valid, this is why representation is so important'

Then a bunch of trans men say 'hey it's really hard to imagine ever having a future because I've never seen someone like me live happily to adulthood, especially not older adulthood'. And the exact same queer community goes 'yeah I dont really see how thats an issue?'

So 1. This is absolutely disgusting violent transphobia AND misogyny and exactly what most transmascs mean when our transitions are seen as illegitimate attempts to grab attention/power (because actually this is an insanely popular opinion among all transphobes, especially cis ones, this person is NOT special for thinking this) and 2. Yet another example of CIS MEN being grouped into the TMA category by default. Is a gay cis man prior to transition not TME? Is that not a TME queer person who is transitioning? to add on: "afab trans woman" is a term for intersex people who were assigned female at birth, raised male, and then had to make some sort of social and/or medical effort to be perceived as a woman because that's what they prefer.

How have we gone so far back on understanding internet etiquette on this site irt kink posting. No it isn’t “purity culture” or an act of transmisogyny for someone to ask you to tag your posts so people can filter them out. Unless you password protect your blog this is a public space and you’re being an asshole to people just trying to use it and curate their experience by not using the tools that let people do so, aka by not tagging things. You’re not a revolutionary activist for making that dysphoric transmasc see your forcefem post that he’s tried to avoid by putting it in his filter list you’re just an asshole and will be treated like one. Sure no one can literally force you but you’re not the victim for receiving consequences socially and having people not like you because of it. And no, you cannot claim that forcefem “isn’t a kink” you absolute goofball, no one is going to go along with that no matter how much you stomp your feet and cry about how unfair it is that there’s a distinction for the average person between supporting and encouraging transfems to discover themselves and posting about holding people down to inject them with estrogen. The first is fine, and the second is also fine but properly tagged just as any other kink would be if you care about other’s wellbeing, especially other trans people for whom seeing that could be extremely distressing. TL;DR, if you choose to behave like an inconsiderate asshole you will win the prize of people not liking you and telling you to fuck off. You can remedy this by growing as a person rather than doubling down.

I thought the common etiquette was that people are allowed to post anything they want untagged, for as long as it's not cross tagged?

Tumblr is probably the worst place to ask someone to tag nsfw. Just a few years ago it nuked some sex related tags altogether, and that's why some people still write "nsft" instead of "nsfw", and we get no guarantee it's not gonna do it again.

Plus, there's lots of genuinely distressing content being posted by trans people on here, and it doesn't get called out when it's not sexual. I could really go without seeing how some people happily describe their transition results in certain ways, because it makes me dysphoric and insecure about myself. But I'm not saying anything because I understand that some stuff isn't for me.

People are allowed to do whatever they want forever, but I would not say that’s the proper etiquette. The tag situation is a problem but also not really an excuse in my mind to not make sure that people can filter out your posts if they need to, as you said there are ways. And I would argue there’s a significant difference between the dysphoria and feelings that can come about as a result of someone talking about their transition (not that they’re any less valid or important) and what can happen if someone who is a victim of assault seeing untagged kink posts that feature assault, especially assault targeted at the reader (which again, is completely fine as long as people are able to properly avoid it).
