Cursed by the Sun concept art!!!

I’ve really been figuring out how Eve(Yellow) and Eloune (Purple), the main characters should look. As of posting I’ve updated Eloune’s design a bit more.

I am soooo backlogged on posting art that it isn’t even funny.

The good news is that most of it are just incomplete sketches but I draw them so freaking rapid fire that I have months of sketches that I could probably make over 50 posts about and...whew I dunno if I can do that.

If I were going to I would just post MASSIVE sketch dumps with things that are vaguely related to each other. I try to group up my sketches so that they are all about the same thing and have consistency but I cannot afford to do that with what I have.

So Im only gonna post the absolute best stuff I have and the stuff I’m most excited about.

So yeah!

I actually thought of drawing pride Cheap first but I ended up drawing Rich instead....I still had to draw Cheap though so here he is!

I had a lot of fun figuring out what accessories he should have~ The rainbow suspenders were a must.

Happy Pride Month!

I drew Rich again because of course I did!!!

Obviously, he’s Bi LOL. I put together this outfit for him. He likes casual loose clothing like this...a bit of a punk influence.

His gloves are usually Yellow and gold colours but it was NOT meshing with the central colour scheme of the flag so I only kept gold accents to help tie everything together.

I was thinking of drawing more of my OCs wearing their respective flags...we’ll see if that happens! Honestly putting this drawing together was a little spur of the moment.

So it’s that time again. The fandom is thinking of bringing back the Zombie AU next Autumn and I am SO in on that.

A while back I designed what Cheap would look like in this AU for fun, but soon it might actually become a reality and to prepare for that I’ve done some concept art and updated his design a little!

The biggest update is of course the mask he’s wearing under the thneed cause I realized he should and does have better access to protection from the infected air. Otherwise he’s wearing the very clothes he had when he was in business cause he doesn’t have any other clothes and it symbolically demonstrates the fact that he doesn’t want to let go of his previous lifestyle.

The bottom-most picture includes concept designs that I did not previously have: A hypothetical zombified Cheap and a reference to one of my absolute favorite Zombie movies; Fido.

I almost want to make a nod to that movie in this AU but the world of Fido is an alternate universe in of itself....so I might just joke about it later and yes, it was absolutely an excuse to indulge in 1950′s fashion. You know how it is.

Hey...do you guys remember when I did that character combination meme?

Well, in retrospect it occurred to me that I had a whole other category of characters I love which I will sort into the category: Big Hearted Child Protagonist!

This includes characters like Sakura, Steven, Mob and Yugo to name a few...I combined some of their main elements together and this is what I got.

She’s  definitely got magical abilities...she’s probably some kind of magical girl, honestly. She’s a rough and tumble tomboy type but she likes cute clothes and hot pink.

I really like how this character design turned out! I don’t really know what to use her for just yet but generally I just enjoy designing characters for fun and that’s enough for me.

Here is one of my protagonist characters, Snelly! Snelly’s name is from the term Nervous Nellie. It’s probably a nickname that stuck. I doubt her parents would actually call her that.

She is as her name implies, a bit nervous mostly as a result of being high strung and constantly looking out for secrets and conspiracies in day to day life.

Snelly tends to play investigator and that’s likely what she wants to do when she graduates highschool. She is already trying to solve a major case in the town she’s attending for private school on a remote island...the origins of several people in close proximity to her and the true identities of the locals.

Nobody believes Nelly but...I think you see where this is going.

Miss Himemiya!!!

I’m watching Revolutionary Girl Utena with my fiance and remembered I had these sketches hanging around. I was re-watching some early eps a few months ago and had to appreciate this design.

I really like Anthy! She’s adorable ^^ Her rose bride dress as an ensemble is just so iconic and it was a lot of fun to draw.

Lately I redid my gemsona!

When Aquamarine showed up on the show I was instantly in love. Rude little water pixie? Sign me UP for more of this please.

I then came to the conclusion that an aquamarine would suit my gemsona well!  I like butterfly/fairy motifs and this idea even had a water element!

Here is a record of the design iterations I went through to arrive at the final design!

A lot of the visual appearance is still similar to my previous gemsona; Rainforest Topaz as you will notice. But even the original concept I had for topaz suits aquamarine better such as using a “magic” staff or wand as a primary weapon.

So! My Aquamarine gemsona is more of a green hued aquamarine. I read that the greener an aquamarine stone is, the less pure and expensive they are so I factored that in. My main motivation was to use my favorite colour for the design.

She’s actually a lot bigger than the average Aquamarine; however, her wings are the same size as that of a regular aquamarine and can get no bigger, meaning this teal coloured aquamarine cannot fly. She can mostly flutter jump or hover somewhat.

She’s ridiculed by other aquamarines and looked down on by homeworld. Im not sure if she skirts by being an off-colour and being tossed away due to the importance of aquamarines and the fact that she can still do her job just as well or not.

She is pretty stern, vain, authoritative and enjoys toying with people but can and does feel great sympathy for others when it comes down to it. She becomes a bit of a better person overtime.

Her weapon of choice is a staff and has capabilities similar to other aquamarines but to a bit of a lesser extent. She might even be an Aquamarine from the end of a past era if Aquamarine’s were ever bigger than they are now; similar to how Peridot described later eras.

But yeah! If you have any other questions about my gemsona I’d love to hear them~

I felt like Old Once-ler wasn’t getting enough love so I drew him! He’s actually got an excellent design himself. I like how they decided his facial hair should look and the long thneed scarf he wears.

If any of you are out there lamenting that Once-ler is a bad guy and a jerk, look no further than Atonement Grampa™ for all your pure and good Once-ler needs.

Here’s Teiku again!

I did this exercise in dividing up her original concept because she used to be a cyborg/genetic experiment with Vampire-like attributes like fangs, batwings and such but OF course none of the weaknesses of an actual vampire. She was more of a bat hybrid, actually.

A while back I made a reboot of her story where she is completely robotic. Recently, I decided to take it further and create an AU where she is entirely an actual vampire!

I thought of also bringing in her somewhat combative background and put her in this scenario where she is fighting in a tournament. I wanted to use this old concept of her physical form changing (Teiku originally sprouted a pair of batwings nightly like some kind of werebat) and turn it up all the way so she also has this monstrous form that she slowly changes into, desperate to win the tournament.

Her monster form is based off of analogies I made of her being like a moth in early pieces of writing about the character, her bat/vampire aspects and a 3rd creature design that was associated with her in the RP I did.

I’ve really fallen in love with this alternate design~

Well! I’ve come back to Teiku as I often do.

She was a character I majorly roleplayed back between 2010 - 2011 or so. I posted some other art of her earlier so you may recognize her!

This is original design...for the most part. She used to have pigtails but with the curly part at the top. I wanted to draw her with a ponytail for once. I retooled the look of her shirt a little bit as well but everything is pretty much the same.
