I was to the Madoka Café this weekend. Before the opening hours, and there was a queue because this was the final weekend with the soul gem drinks. Although, they would probably gain on making a re-run of them. I’m so sad about not having tasted Mami’s ♥ Sweet Mami. I’d so be going, even though I need every yen I have to survive in Tokyo.
I took the “Witch’s Sweet Obsession Dessert” (as translated by The Extroverted Otaku) / “お菓子の魔女の執着デザート” and the two last available drinks. Madoka’s and Homura’s. Madoka had peach flavour while Homerun’s drink had some sort of elderberry flavour… It was a “suspicious dark drink” indeed, took a few seconds to get used to it at every time I took a sip. When taking the drinks, I’d recommend to stir it after you’ve taken your first sip. All the flavour is at the bottom, and drinking without is seriously. No. Fun. Pinapple stars in drinks and on plate. Chocolate roll cake with a picture of Charlotte (I had hoped for a sticker :x). Madoka coaster which I couldn’t use because I wanted to take it home with me ＞３＜ Luncheon mat that I ruined before thinking. Madoka coaster was so much more important ＜３
The café had dim lights, and it was hard to take any good photos with my camera. I’d like to buy a better one while being in Japan, but we’ll see…
When waiting for your food, or done eating your food, everybody takes their chance to walk around and photograph the inside of the café. There’s merchandise (ofc), MSMM pictures everywhere. On the tables, the bar, scrolls hanging from the ceiling. I wonder if they will sell them later. So many cute pictures. And a projector with a slide show on the wall furthest in.

A BIG PLUSHIE CHARLOTTE HANGING FROM THE CEILING, WITH MOUTH OPEN WIDE. So many people took their picture with their head under her mouth. Not me though, “forever alone”.
Because there are people waiting to get in, the waiter sometimes tell customers that their time is up and they need the table. But you can still stay and photograph everything. When leaving, you pay for your order, and if you pre-ordered a nendoroid through the special menu set; you pay at that point. You get a tiny receipt and two “Witch’s Kiss” stickers (yey, stickers!). Maybe about 3,5cm x 3,5cm.
Since the café is held by Good Smile Company, besides everything related to MSMM, there is a collection of maybe 200 nendoroids. Some are available for buying, I believe it’s those in boxes with a price, lol. I saw rare ones, and it was the first time I saw the complete Surstrommings one. (I’ve seen parts of it in stores. Yes, you can buy parts and build your own nendoroid! That’s like half the point with them, is it not?). Their plushies are also for display, I’m almost waiting for the day when they will say that they have to move to a bigger café to display all their goods.
