It blows my mind that Nancy the basement ghost is the best queer representation on CBS Ghosts at the moment.
Which, absolutely no hate to her at all. She's my favorite character on the show, by a mile. She's a snarky, confident, gremlin of a woman who happens to be bisexual, and we love that for her.
But it's unexpected and frankly mind boggling, that out of all the queer characters that have been introduced since the start of the show, it's her.
The polyamorous bisexual ended up in a monogamous relationship with no chemistry, and both her bisexuality and her being polyamorous are brushed off as silly things she did in the cult.
The queer IT couple broke off their engagement for no reason and basically have not spoken for two season. One of them has been reduced to the most minor of background characters while the other's gone back to being the house's punching bag.
The asexual character was never confirmed asexual and instead portrayed as "fixed" once he finally slept with someone.
The lesbian couple next door has disappeared. The waiter hired for St Hetty's Day just split up with his husband.
Nancy, meanwhile, regularly confesses to having slept with women and men, and it's shown as a normal part of her character. She's free spirited, sleeps with whoever she wants, bullies Stuart, loves smelling cheese, and has the temper of a wasp on cocaine.
It's so casual, but it's there and it makes sense.
