Made a cushion for the egg chair, now she's nice and cosy!
And her cloak makes a nice blanket too!
I really want to play with my dolls again. For like, the first time since my dad passed. I feel like I've been very disconnected from most of my hobbies since the start of the pandemic. Like, I'm trying. I don't know.
I also feel like I lost all of my BJD mutuals through inaction and being an actively bad friend. I want to try and be better this year. I don't know. I think I'm just feeling a lot of things today.
Allen Walker - Crown Clown.
Taken in a circus tent because clowns belong into a tent.
These were actually the first photos I took of the finished Allen and I have to say Crown Clown is such a beautiful Innocence; I am glad the whole plan around it worked out like imagined. And yes he will get the sword, next year. For now he has both arms and the claw hand, showing off the work intense mods.
That's his emotional support spider, thank you very much.
Technically his stepmom's familiar, but whatever.
Her kimono is from daiso and it's way too big, except the narrow part of the sleeves had trouble getting it over her wrist fur. It's cute, though, sorta Heian era vibes. Lemme know if you wanna see if in full.
Hahahaha 😂😂😂😂

Hey everyone!
Last year was a rough year for my etsy, but this year I want to greatly improve it and make it an even better shopping experience. I'm going to start doing more human jewelry, but I don't want to stop making BJD stuff.
So, my question is, what are some styles/types of jewelry ya'll might be looking for? I was thinking of making some more harnesses and stuff, but I wanted to know others feedback.
Also, a lot of my human stuff will be plus sized body chain harnesses, pride merch, and soon I'm going to start making some goth/pastel goth chokers and the like. If that's anything you or anyone you know might be interested in please share my shop with them!
I'm actually feeling creative and artistically motivated this year, so any feedback would be appreciated!
✨ TONIGHT at 6pm EST, Build-A-Beast✨
It’s been quite a while since I’ve offered made to order beasts, but the time has come! Feast your eyes upon your choices above ✨ This is your chance to get a rabbit with a fancy ruff, a little demon or a gobbo if you missed them before.
I’ll have only a few slots available for these guys, as they have a tendency to take a while to make and I’d like to get them all out this coming week.
Build-A-Beast dolls will be $130 and they’ll be in the shop tonight at 6pm est. Have a look at the options and send me an email after you check out and we can get planning!
Thank you for looking!
I’ve opened up a few more slots for these guys! Happy Sunday bbs
Soooo,I made a tiktok for my art and stuff. Same username as here. If you guys want to follow me and support my art, I would greatly appreciate it!
My tiny mermaid came in!!
Look how cute and colorful the box is! 😊
Okay....okay hold on. I knew it was tiny but holy smokes!!!
Pictures don't do it justice this doll is TINY!!!! I'm gonna need tweezers to get this dolls eyes in. It's joints work really well for how small it is surprisingly. The elbow have a single joint, the tail does have a tiny peanut joint to bend the tail a bit more than 90 degrees and a slot to bend at the waist where the tail connects to the body. In the lucky bag I got what looks like alcohol? I'm not sure..
It has the tiniest magnets for the head plate and they are pretty secure
Here is the knee joint folded as far as it goes. They have a sort of lip that secures the joint kinda locking it into place. The doll can sit up when the tail is flat out in front of it but it can't sit on its knees
Overall I'm blown away with how small this is. It's almost anxiety inducing how small it is and that I could snap or break something if I'm not careful. It's also going to be a logistical challenge to find not only eyes that fit but trying to make it a wig and finding a faceup artist willing to take on such a tiny doll. Still I'm glad to have this in my collection.
Where to Buy Less expensive BJDs- a sampling, as of Spring 2021
A few of the Least-Expensive Legit BJDs Rosslyn Could Find
So we know this hobby is expensive.
It’s tough to want a beautiful doll and not be able to afford it.
We don’t want to buy stolen goods, so a recast is right out. Which are the completely least expensive but still beautiful resin ball jointed dolls? Here’s a few lovelies in links I have hunted up. Even the famous Fairyland has Littlefees in Boy and Girl versions (the best posers, and YoSD being the most “fun” doll size in the hobby IMHO, so portable) which can run you under $300 and they’re absolutely fantastic. If you made me choose one doll to keep out of my collection… I’d hate to pick but let’s be honest, it’d be Stella, my Littlefee.
They also sell Pukifees, 18cm little pocket pals in that same choice A La Carte system. Someday we hope they will bring back Pukipukis, which used to go for around $180 each and were great little travel buddies. Mine has a little case I can slip into my purse, and she’s been on trips with me like a little travel gnome.
Fairyland offers their Tan Skin kind of periodically for different size categories, so if you’re really set on it, don’t fret! They often offer it for Events at Winter holidays, Spring festival, or Halloween. You can buy through dealer Denver Doll Emporium if you’re in the USA and don’t want to deal with the company, but Fairyland has always been professional with me. If you like fantasy fairy type dolls, Charm Doll has a cute little succulent plant fairy for $140. If you like little animal dolls, DollFamily A makes a whole handful of little critters for $100-$120 each, and many other cute dolls besides. Cocotribe’s animals are about $135. Impldoll makes a colorful lil’ crocodile at $145 that would be easy to add horns and wings to for a dragon. Bobobie has several beautiful tiny dolls for under $100, and you can get them through Denver Doll Emporium or the company’s own website. Doll Leaves sells a lot of lovely tiny dolls for $88!!- $135 They’ve also got several gorgeous Yo-SD sized (about 12 inches tall) dolls for $160. Only Doll makes some for $110.
Dollzone has many dolls in the middle size and smaller who cost under $300, down to $175
Dikadoll mid size Kids come with lots of face types including smiling or anime style faces! Gem of Doll has Yo-SD sized dolls and Tiny sized dolls. Impldoll has many little fae and fairy style YoSD sized dolls at $145. Their MSDs or ¼ sized dolls are only $188-$208. They even make 1/3 sized dolls or SD size for less than $300!
Myou Doll has some really gorgeous faces on dolls in many sizes that come in a nice price range.
Asleep Eidolon does really high quality craftsmanship on their stunning dolls, and the mid size or anything smaller are often under $300. Beautiful faces too. Angel of Dream makes ¼ or MSD dolls for $165, and a lot of SD or 1/3 size dolls for under $300! Some of Doll Chateau’s etherial waifs go for less than $300
If you’re into Chinese fantasy and more mature dolls, Granado’s 30cm lads are marvelous little versions of their well known male dolls.
Resinsoul has so many options and almost all of them are under $300! One of my prettiest dolls is a Resinsoul hybrid. Mature 1/3 SD size men, a Tiefling looking gal you can order in many resin colors, and a lady who can be your Blood or Night Elf from WoW, with a color you choose. THey have satyrs, centaurs, draconic MSDs, and elves galore. They’ve even been known to swap heads and bodies for your custom choice, or do clear resin for some parts on request.
And that’s just a sampling!
Please signal boost to people who like dolls!
So remember a while back when people were expressing their concerns that recasters were growing at an exponential rate to a point where their “dolls” were looking more legitimate and caused speculation of them being factories, especially Luo, and the pro theft gang was like “you’re exaggerating” and dismissed it because of their assumption it was just a small group of people?
Yea no, that was a fucking lie
ChinaBJD has literally grown to the point where they have a whole staff of people that work different departments of their company, created multiple fake recast hybrids to slide past copyright violations, offering full sets for their counterfeits, selling their counterfeits to other sellers like a wholesale item, offering their own casting service that we’ve learned as of recent, and are now selling other doll products to increase their revenue. This is honestly so appalling how far they’ve come when the majority of the artists they’ve stole from are still small businesses with not even close to 10 employees, some still are SINGLE artists in the same amount of time they’ve grown to a literal goddamn factory.
They would have NEVER gotten this far if they didn’t have a dedicated fan base of supporters, aka the pro theft/pro recast/anti artist gang consistently buying their shitty counterfeits. And I’m not talking about the people who got their counterfeit by accidental purchase or as a gift, I’m talking about those who buy purposely seek out Luo and buy their fakes at a disgusting rate and the scum who purposely send dolls to be recast.
So to those pro theft people who brushed off how Luo wasn’t going to grow past a small operation and those who purposely keep putting money in their pocket, if you ever wonder why no one in the community wants to deal with your people or even humor you all? This is why. You all have given so much money and motivation to for a counterfeiter become a LITERAL GODDAMN FACTORY that has become direct competition to the artists who make the dolls you love so much and act like it’s not a big deal when it is. And if you think I’m “exaggerating” go to the link below for their Alibaba where they have listings set up to sell their counterfeits as wholesale or search “Taihe Zhongshe Toy Co., Ltd.” on google and look at their Company profile. This is no longer a “small operation, it’s a full blown counterfeiting business.

Fuck ChinaBJD and anyone who purposely gives them money gives zero fucks about artists, I have ZERO respect for you and have no place in this hobby.

i’m literally at the barest fringes of this fandom because i enjoy looking at people’s dolls and the processes behind them, so preemptive apologies if this is just an autistic it’s obvious to everyone but i Just Don’t Get It moment, but like.
if the counterfeiters have a full blown factory and are producing stuff that’s interchangeable with the original factory… doesn’t that just mean that now there’s another factory produced source of the stuff that you guys want?
Hi there! I would be happy to help explain!
So, recasts are stolen art. The original “factory” is usually just a few independent creators that work on making the sculpt. Most BJD companies are incredibly small teams of people, usually under 10 people per company, even for the larger ones. So, you have this small team of artists creating the sculpts which takes lots of time and talent and thousands of dollars worth of resources.
After they make the sculpt they send it out into the world. That’s where the recasters come in. See, since the sculpt has already been made the recasters don’t have to pay for all of the time and effort it takes to make the first sculpt. They can just copy it instead. That means they can make it much much cheaper because they don’t have to do any of the original design. (Which again, is not easy and costs a lot of money)
Now they can sell the sculpt cheaper than the artist that created it. People see the cheaper price and get excited and buy it. This takes money away from the artists that created that sculpt. Now all of that artists sales are going to the people who took their art and just copied it. They have no money to continue making dolls.
Meanwhile, the big companies that recast (which actually ARE large companies not tiny teams of people) get all of the profits.
You can see how this would be a problem. An artists livelihood is taken away, someone who stole their art is getting all of the money, and now they can no longer afford to create new art.
Hope this helps!
yes! thank you so much, this actually does help a lot! i didn’t realize that the original creators were small teams/houses, rather than just like… a different factory? i thought it was more along the lines of industrial espionage (which like… bad, but also kind of like yeah, and? bad) rather than straight art theft (which is definitely the direct effect kind of bad.)
thank you!
Not a problem! Let me know if you have any more questions and I would be happy to help!

Last time i got accused of being a gatekeeper, it was someone who followed terfs and owned a recast of their own so like, im not imagining it'll be fun when people find out im pro artist lmao
I'd like to announce again that I'm pro artist and anti terf
Aye!
Pro-artist, Pro-trans
ditto.
the paper towel dress in fabric…(i wanted to use a fabric and lace i had a lot of)
took me 3 days to finish but i think it would go much quicker if i were to do it again now that i know the particulars of the pattern
i was especially impressed with the skirt pattern, i was worried since it was simple but it worked much better then i expected
Portrait Mode Haru!! 😍
[ID: a ¾ view portrait photo of a ball jointed doll, a Unoa Sist face on a Fairyland Minifee body, all in peachy resin. She has a purple wavy wig, purple eyes, and a purple top on, and her face is painted to look like she has on heavy mascara over a more natural looking makeup style. To the right of her is text, saying
“ When you buy a Ball Jointed Doll, be sure it’s a real one. Knockoffs recasted from real dolls harm the hobby and devastate the artists who put their hearts into these art pieces. it’s not ‘like buying a knockoff purse’. There are no ‘big companies’. Tiny teams of artists handcast every doll, and many quit when their work is stolen.
Avoid eBay. Check with the dollmaker to be sure your seller is a legit vendor. If a seller is asking far lower than the maker’s price, it’s probably a scam- a recast. PLEASE avoid recasts.” end ID]
Please reblog this to get the word out to new hobbyists about not destroying the livelihoods of artists and their will to even bother sculpting anything new.
I know too many artists who have either quit sculpting or wouldn’t bother to start producing their unique and impressive dolls
because their art has been stolen or they’ve seen others’ dolls recasted by bootleggers looking for a steal and a quick buck.
Don’t be duped by thieves. Buy Legit.
