Maybe 64 bit/32 bit split? Or Professional and regular W10? I'm 64 bit Pro.
Regular or Pro shouldn't matter. And nobody uses 32-bit anymore!
Did all you asked, still having issues! Device driver manufacturer is CMedia?
That is correct! I have several users reporting that it's working and some not.
Yes, I've tried adding the device in legacy mode - I end up getting both Raptor HS40 AND Corsair USB Driver installed at the same time. Like I said, the software opens and runs, and the Raptor HS40 entry is using the driver you provided... the EQ just doesn't work on the application at all, or any of the room effects. Does the EQ work on yours?
Yes the EQ works fine here. My last guess would be:1. Uninstall driver in Device Manager.2. Go to SoftwareDrivers, x64 folder and right click the INF file and Install.3. Now plug in the headset and install again.4. Confirm that the current driver manufacturer is Corsair and not Microsoft in Device Manager.
Hi Qarizm - your Corsair HS40 fix doesn't quite work! Got round the drivers issue by installing them manually, but none of the buttons in the software actually change anything - I can't EQ the headset at all. Any ideas?
I will look into the issue. Did you try installing the headset after the setup using Legacy hardware install of Windows? Also you did a reboot?
Corsair Exposed: Unofficial HS40 Windows 10 Driver
Corsair support and service exposed! Long story short: Corsair gives HS40 headset EOL status, we are talking about a headset released in Q4 2013. This headset is supported by Corsair until Windows 8.1. With the release of Windows 10 you can no longer use Corsair software for this headset, meaning that surround is not supported.
This is not a joke. Here is the official reply from Corsair: https://dyp.im/BeCeB0FJAx
The reason that I am making such issue, is because it is so easy for THEM to update their software/setup. This whole mini-project is started thanks to my colleague, he began complaining about this.
After this drama I decided to help my colleague. I took the Windows 8 setup and reversed it. It’s a simple InstallShield setup, but I was unable to patch the INX file so I re-made a new installer.
This new installer is only compatible with Windows 10, 64-bit. Who uses 32-bit? The drivers are installed, the software from Corsair is installed and you should be able to manage and configure your headset.
https://dyp.im/2qJ940WBod
Download the installer archive, unpack it with 7zip or WinRAR. Then run HS40W10.exe as administrator. (This is important, because we are installing drivers.) Remember, I am not responsible for any issues using my installer. It works and has been tested on three different systems.
Please let me know if you enjoyed it, or any issues that you encountered.

Important: Please only download this from my blog, other sources can not be verified. Also, do not buy any Corsair products, only if you like being fucked.
Note: Sorry for the images, Image Upload wasn’t working on Tumblr. Then I started to find a good image hosting, I didn’t find anything other than dyp.im. Other sites aren’t working; Imgur not uploading? ImageShack slow as fuck, US servers? TinyPic captcha etc.
Update from the user Grey Matter: Hi there, I'm not sure but maybe need to confirmed with you guys. After doing the install and rebooting I still had nothing at the time, but go to device manager/sound, video and game controller. Right click Raptor HS40, Select Properties, Browse My Computer, Then Browse top section manually find the Unzipped folder you downloaded and go into Software Driver then Driver and should see a file called sunstreaker.inf. Select that file and install. Once done it should be in your short list of devices and then it should enable ok...Hope this helps!
And after posting this solution, I got banned at Corsair forum. Reason: Virus spammer!
Computer gets out of sleep mode at night? Solved!
Hey, did you ever encounter such spooky thing? Since I have build my new computer, it gets out of sleep mode at night, freaky?
Most common fix is to disable wake-up by your Network adapters, Device Manager - Network Adapters - Properties - Power Management.
But this didn’t solve my problem, so I found this command to find out what caused the last wake up.
This command will show up the cause, including scheduled tasks and processes:
powercfg /lastwake
This command will show the exact device:
powercfg /devicequery wake_armed
You can run these commands through cmd.exe.

Hey will you make more cool tools for windows and it's software?
Yes I will! Do you have anything particular in mind?
VLD Opcoder Kit, analyse your PHP code with opcodes.
<?php function test() { echo "Hello!\n"; return true;
echo "This will not be executed.\n"; } ?>
Function test: filename: /tmp/test1.php function name: test number of ops: 9 compiled vars: none line # * op fetch ext return operands --------------------------------------------------------- 2 0 > EXT_NOP 4 1 EXT_STMT 2 ECHO 'Hello%21%0A' 5 3 EXT_STMT 4 > RETURN true 7 5* EXT_STMT 6* ECHO 'This+will+not+be+executed.%0A' 8 7* EXT_STMT 8* > RETURN null
End of function test.
Isn’t this cool? I played with this when I was working on Reverzor. It’s a dead end for me though. Maybe it’s useful for experimental usage.

10HIDER, hides the Windows 10 Upgrade Reservation tray icon.
You all got this message already? Well I thank Microsoft for the free reservation, this has been done but the icon still stays in tray. I made a tool to remove the icon.
This is the reservation screen:
This is the notorious tray icon:
And this is the solution:
Features
Safely hides the GWX (Windows 10 Reservation Tray Icon) and disables it until you restore or install Windows 10. This tool has no harm to your system or your reservation and can be restored at any time.

Skypr, the adblocker for Skype.
Introduction
After a long time I am back with a new handy tool called Skypr.
What is this?
I am a frequent Skype user and I am getting really tired of those ads and flickering images. So I decided to dig into this ‘issue’ and write something for it.
How does it work?
Well simply explained:
Skypr will block system access to the advertisement servers of Skype.
Skypr will patch every Skype user config available.
Skypr will lock every config, so Skype cannot overwrite it.
Are there any limitations?
No, everything works as normal. You still have a fully functional Skype, even premium users or subscribers. This tool will cause no issues.
What are the features?
Patch Skype within a few seconds.
Restore anytime you want.
Completely removes all ads (only an empty banner remains) there is an option to remove theplaceholder completely.
Now also updates your hosts files safely.
Skypr is not harmful for your account, it only changes your local system.
What are the requirements?
This tool has been tested on Windows 8.1, but it should work on Windows Vista and higher, and of course Windows 10. This tool must be ran as Administrator.
Where can I download it?
Please only download my tools from my website. Otherwise I am not able to guarantee safety of the file!
Download: http://dl.qarizm.com/skypr/2/Skypr.exe
Changelog
V2 Fixed: New patching method keeps Skype Home and Facebook integration working. Added: Optional remove the banner placeholder, this will disable Skype Home. Fixed: Some logging issues.
eGPU Macbook - Introduction
Always wanted to play the newest games on your Macbook? It's possible, and it got even more affordable. The eGPU is not something new, it's available for quite sometime, but it wasn't really a performance booster back then. But with the release of Thunderbolt 2 on the Macbooks it got interesting. So I decided to do some investigation about the technical aspects of this concept.
The main questions is, are we able to utilize full eGPU performance? Is there any loss? What about SLI or CrossFire? (Because we are connected through Thunderbolt 2).
For this example I have taken my own Macbook as example. Macbook Pro Retina Late 2013 with nVidia GT750M.
This Macbook comes with an Intel i7-4850HQ, based off Intels product page we can conclude that this CPU supports upto 16 PCIe lanes. Respectively; 1x16, 2x8, 1x8/2x4. (PCIe 3.0). Reference: here. So we have a total of x16 support for this Macbook. Let's see the PCIe parts of the Macbook.
512GB PCIe SSD uses x2 (PCIe 2.0) lanes. If you have an upgraded SSD, your 1TB PCIe SSD uses x4 lanes. Reference: here.
USB 3.0 Ports (two ports) uses x2 lanes (probably PCIe 2.0 too), each USB port x1 lane. Older Macbooks uses x1 lane for both USB ports. Reference: here.
nVidia GeForce GT 750M 2 GDDR5 uses x8 lanes (PCIe 2.0). Reference: mac sys info.
So how many PCIe lanes are left? What PCIe configuration did Apple use?
Let's proceed with the Thunderbolt part. The Macbook we are talking about supports Thunderbolt 2 (shortened TB2) and uses the DSL5520 from Intel. (Reference: here.) This is the Thunderbolt controller which supports 4 TB channels. Each TB port does have 2 channels, every channel caps 10Gb/s data transmission. With the new TB2 technology we can burst up to 20Gb/s. (Reference: here.) I personally think that there is no benefit for eGPU's using TB1 or TB2 technology. TB2 is mainly released for 4K video. (Reference: here.)
Conclusion: Thunderbolt connection supports up to x4 PCIe lanes. Some more information about PCIe speeds, which comes in handy.
What's with this gigatransfers nonsense? Gigatransfers per second are the same thing (in this case) as gigabits per second, but they include the bits that are lost as a result of interface overhead. All PCI Express versions lose some of their theoretical maximum throughput to the physical overhead associated with electronic transmissions.
Per lane (each direction): v1.x: 250 MB/s (2.5 GT/s) v2.x: 500 MB/s (5 GT/s) v3.0: 985 MB/s (8 GT/s) v4.0: 1969 MB/s (16 GT/s)
So, a 16-lane slot (each direction): v1.x: 4 GB/s (40 GT/s) v2.x: 8 GB/s (80 GT/s) v3.0: 15.75 GB/s (128 GT/s)
Reference: here, here.
The modern day graphics card comes with a x16 slot, this means it can use x16 lanes maximum. Using Thunderbolt we are only able to feed x4 lanes of the 16. Wouldn't this mean 4/16*100 = 25% performance of the GPU will be utilized?
The dual GPU theory. When using the second Thunderbolt connection for a second GPU, would make it possible to run it CrossFire or SLI. Theoretically, this will provide 50% performance of TWO GPU's. IF both TB ports offer x4 lanes. But I doubt that, because I am still wondering what PCIe configuration Apple uses for this Macbook.
I am open for comments, let's discuss this! Please comment below, so everyone can benefit from this.

[Gimmick] Making Malwarebytes portable.
Recently I receive a lot of request about Malwarebytes, this company developed a 'great' product. Well, their detection rate is very good, I won't talk about the application itself.
However, there is no portable version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Since a while they released Malwarebytes Techbench, an enterprise/business product. But what about the people who want it to run it portable for personal use? Don't worry, I got this one.
Do this at your own risk. This is not affiliated with Malwarebytes.
Getting the files.
The Malwarebytes application files are stored in: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\ Copy all files into a portable directory. rules.ref contains the malware definitions. Remember to keep this up to date. The Configuration folder contains all settings of Malwarebytes, including license information. Particularly in license.conf. These configs are binary files, so not editable. You can try getting the Realtime protection working (if you have a license) by registering the following components.
Copy mbam.sys, mbamchameleon.sys, MBAMSwissArmy.sys into: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\system32\drivers\mbamchameleon.sys C:\Windows\system32\drivers\MBAMSwissArmy.sys Then run the following command: regsvr32 C:\Windows\system32\drivers\mbam.sys /s
Do this for every component. To uninstall it run: regsvr32.exe /u COMPONENT /s
[Fix] OSX Yosemite Update: This partition map modification would make a Windows partition unbootable.
So you encountered this error during installation? "This partition map modification would make a Windows partition unbootable".
You are probably running the installer directly after you downloaded it from the App Store. The solution is simple but not available since now.
Solution: Install Yosemite through an USB stick.
Instructions Precondition: Yosemite setup must be present on your system. If not please download it through the App Store.
Get a simple USB stick with enough space. Format it using the Disk Utility into Mac OS Extented format.
Give the USB volume a name like: Yosemite.
Open up the terminal and execute the following code: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Yosemite --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app --nointeraction Note: Replace Yosemite with the USB name you gave at Step 2.
Please have some patience now, this process will take some time. Up to 30 minutes depending on your shitty USB stick.
Once done, keep the USB stick into your Mac and reboot. Be sure you keep holding the Alt / Option key to select the setup.
Start the installation from the start up menu and enjoy Yosemite!
