Hail, mortals and spirits from across the realms. As these ghost fleets may be a threat, the benevolent thing to do is to share our experiences with them.
A guardian fleet was taken from their patrol duties to intercept another appearing ghost fleet. This one larger than the last.
The ghost fleet had been bringing ruination to mining stations and the guardian fleet intercepted them before they could spread their devastation further.
As per the advice given unto us by the @goganworlds, we attempted to commune with them. Alas, as much as we did not want it to be so, we confirmed the wisdom of the Gogans, they were not demons as previously believed, rather they are dead Uiatae from ages past. We thought they took the form of ancient Uiatae ships to mock Qelae'ata, but the ghosts within were without deception. They were mainly pirates from the age of sin, long dead but amongst their crew were recently deceased Uiatae, some who'd been forced to serve with them, others who had simply become cruel.
This disturbed us and Qelae'ata deeply. We now know that Uiatae persist after death, and what awaits them is not a sanctuary, and not something we can control.
Until we learn more of the Shroud and gain dominance over it, we cannot help these ghosts. We were left with no choice but to destroy them, and banish them back to their realm, for the safety of our charges.
It was no easy task, the guardians suffered losses and the ghostly ships were hard to puncture. But curiously, upon their destruction, something was left behind.
A rift in normal space was conjured in their banishment. Perhaps this is what the Gogans described, a fibre of reality, or maybe a portal to their realm. Whatever it may be, we shall find out, and by Qelae'ata's will, come one step closer to figuring out the mysterious of the Shroud. And perhaps, with faith, how to bring sanctuary to the lost souls of the damned in realms beyond.
