With @thou-babbling-brook ‘s permission, here’s the birthday animatic in its full glory!! Inspired by her hopes and headcanons for how certain events in the Dead Kings DLC would play out. Plus, Unity lends itself well to the Les Misérables comparisons, so thought it’d be natural to use one of their songs as the backdrop for this piece.

It’s mildly ironic that despite having Mandarin Chinese as my mother tongue I wrote this in English and ran out of steam after translating it into Japanese lmao

Found a friend who’s willing to help translate my Hara x Lawrence fic into mandarin and as a result I’ve been going through the published Chinese translation of The Seed and the Sower to give them some reference where I’ve more or less directly quoted the novel.

The published translation is… rough. It’s not wrong outright like some translations I’ve seen but it’s also not beautiful. It feels clunky and there’s no beauty to it. It doesn’t stimulate my appetite of reading at all, sadly. (The Japanese translation, however, I thoroughly recommend.) It’s just sad to think about the state of literature in my mother tongue, but also mildly hypocritical for me to say since I write way more in English than in Mandarin.

Going down a rabbit hole about Shane’s dress shirt collar in ep2.

Thought it was a wing collar with a functional band to hide the bow tie strap at first in the toilet scene, but later it is clear that it’s a turndown collar with some sort of fold at the tip (?) that almost looked like wings. So confused. Anyone know what kind of collar this is?
