How did the two of them end up in this situation? He noticed that the two of them were standing close to each other and his fingers were still around her wrist. He loosened his grip which led his hand to slide down to her hers. Emmeline had said she wasn’t going to leave anymore, but there was something pulling at Fabian where he just couldn’t let go. Without even giving it a second though, he pulled her gently closer to himself. Honestly, he knew that he should probably finish the assignment and that might have been one of the only things that kept Emmeline from walking away, but he was starting to care less and less about it at this point. He could finish it later. Procrastination at it’s best.
Finishing up the assignment was one of the last things on Fabian’s mind at the moment. There was no way that he could possibly focus now that the two had found themselves in this position. Even if they did sit themselves back down on the opposite ends of the table, his mind would still be wandering about what Emmeline might have been thinking. The mind of a girl was always one of the mysteries that Fabian could never decipher.
Her soft lips seemed to be all that he could focus on for the time being. How smooth and soft they looked and how they might feel pressed up against his own. The spontaneous Fabian almost pulled her in to find out for himself but he knew that would probably end up with Emmeline bolting towards the door. Her lips parted slightly and he heard her mutter out a few soft words but didn’t quite catch onto them. “What’s that?” He asked, curiously.
Feeling their fingers lacing together was probably the best feeling in the world, for Emmeline. She knew this wasn’t what friends are suppose to do, but somewhere at the back of her mind was a craving for affection, and none other from Mr. Fabian Prewett himself. She tried her hardest to push it to where it belonged which was the ignored section of her brain, but somehow, she was unable to do it. Especially with their hand-holding. Suddenly, him pulling her closer had caused a squeak out of her. She didn’t know what to do at this part.
In all honesty, she would have never expected this to ever happen, except for that one time the Ravenclaw girls had a sleepover with a featured potion called Verituserum and she had been a victim to a the game of Truth where she had described what her friendship with Fabian was like. Though a silly question, it was the beginning of a stupid crush she would nev.
Staring into his eyes, she inhaled softly. Emmeline wanted to be brave, or at least act brave. With what she was about to do, she had to muster up all her courage just for this one moment in time. She exhaled, with a mischievous glint to her eyes. Here goes nothing.
“This,” She started off, already beginning to lean in slightly, “isn’t,” so close, yet so far away. “going to,” their friendship was going to be out the window with every second she came closer and she couldn’t care less at that point. “end,” she tip-toed in order to be at least a few inches to his height. “-well,” Her hand slipped away from his and pressed it to his cheek while she leaned in, capturing his lips on her own.
