Bruh your mane
I feel like responding is crossing boundaries. But I have strong opinions regarding the drama my barn is kicking up over a freaking drizzle.
Everyone scratched which is fine, their choice. Some people lost their entry fees if they paid ahead as they scratched the day before. But ffs. It was a drizzle. The cross country portion? Sure. Considering it’s not a sanctioned event.
But anyway I wrote this out but it’s crossing a line to post this as a response.
[If the conditions were bad, the blame lies on riders and trainers for not scratching just about as much as the show organizers if athletes are injured.
I wasn’t there today and I have no idea what the conditions at the facility were, especially cross country which is where the worst injuries would like take place. It was gross here in <city> but I’ve gone riding in wetter conditions through the mountains and wading through creeks - not to say it was smart or 100% safe, nor was I galloping at solid obstacles so apples and oranges. I’m not saying a show should have ran as athlete safety should also be paramount above money but I’ve been in the situation many times that’s it’s considered an outdoor sport which means weather happens. ]
A small slide show.

Now if only we can figure out how to compress that constant extended trot 😅 working on pushing to get in front of the vertical lol

It’s been awhile since I’ve done this and so many awesome new horse blogs have been created.
So if you don’t mind, reblog this if you’re at least 90% horse blog and I will follow you.

Every time someone tells me I will “get nowhere” on a standardbred have a fundamental misunderstanding of my goals as a horseperson and also apparently of the standardbred as a breed.
Barring all unforeseen circumstances my horse is gorgeous mover whose movement has only gotten better since I’ve had him and I have no doubt we can go second level dressage in a few years.
He’s five and wonderful and so incredible.
