not an ask but thank you for being supportive of trans people <3
Thank you! That reminds me, this is a good chance to post a funny story that happened a few months ago.
Someone DM'd me on Twitter asking if she could send me a picture to do something creepy with. I checked their bio and profile and it was full of TERF bullshit, so I decided I'd go along in a way...
Since people loved the concept of "Pride Flag Found Footage", I ended up making more with a bunch of other flags! Here's a few of them:
A malevolent deity that is said to be the originator of Bisexual Lighting and its corrupting force.
Picture by @TheGreatBambi_ and flag by Peter Salanki on flickr.
"I swear it's real! It wasn't the wind or anything. I could swear that lesbian flag was *slithering* towards me."
"Oh, you mean you're seeing the Pan Flag? Poor lad. They say if you see it once, it will never leave you. It's everywhere, always floating just at the edge of your vision. You better get used to it."

Looking back, you realize it was there all along. Just lurking… Was it watching over? Protecting you? Or maybe it was biding its time, waiting for the right moment to attack.
"look dude idk what it was... i think it was some kinda asexual flag or smth, just floating there, menacingly"

Saw a post and decided to fix it ^^
i always reblog pro wasp propaganda to spite my phobia
"Dogwhistles" are called that based on real "dog whistles", many of which are pitched too high to be audible to most humans, but are still perfectly audible to dogs.
Rhetorical dogwhistles are things that most people would not be able to identify as bigoted because they're INTENDED to have plausible deniability.
The wording changes are meant to be subtle enough that people really can mix them up accidentally when they don't have much information!
So when the gender critical movement calls trans women "transwomen", they're hoping for 2 things.
this usage will spread enough among people who don't know any better, to give transphobes the plausible deniability of not LOOKING like a frothing bigot constantly.
the usage grammatically places trans women in a different category than other women; it's changing "trans" from an adjective to part of a noun to make this distinction.
The more we can avoid this usage, the less deniability have transmisogynists have when using it, and the less rhetorical ground we cede to the degendering and misgendering of trans women.
I don't actually think ceding this ground is LESS divisive than pointing it out politely.
If youre a closeted person somewhere out there thinking "I want to transition but it would be less progressive/unique/countercultural for me to be that gender instead of this one" please know that you are a real person not a character in a narrative and cant live your life based on what is good media representation. You are real you can only be yourself and theres no moral weight to any identity over another
Liberal transphobes enjoy positioning trans identities as regressive compared to cis queerness or like non-transitioning transness or anything else they can leverage to make transphobia look progressive and I think its easy to absorb that message subconciously. But in real life we just are what we are and no ranking of validity can change the fact that you have an identity that is NOT chosen and is just your unchangeable truth. Not only should you not have to live a life dictated by what is most countercultural to identify as or whatever but also: being trans is extremely countercultural and feminist and leftist to begin with and theyre only trying to convince you otherwise bc theyre bigots
"Why cant you be a feminine man society hates feminine men 🥺" and "all the butch lesbians are becoming men we need u 🥺" = stay in the closet for the noble purpose of being an abstract representation point in my new york times opinion column. You wont actually be a gnc cis person youll be a closeted trans person who uses the wrong words but I need you to do that because i hate you
How I’m feeling right now

Thank you for your attention to this matter
"Do you want trans men to be treated like a different kind of men????" Hmmmm yea. They have uteruses and vaginas so they need different medical care. They also have high rates of sexual abuse and there's no laws in place of protecting trans men being physically abused. Like yea, we do need them to be treated like a different kind of men because they are a different kind of man.
The community having to double down on “trans people are exactly the same as you!” for so long in an attempt to get cis ppl to stop treating us like third gendered others has really backfired. This stance does not allow for the nuance that a cis person does not actually have the same experience of gender as a binary trans person. (Something that can be true WITHOUT it invalidating that trans persons connection to their binary gender.) It also excludes the nonbinary experience because there is no way to be nonbinary and have exactly the same experience of gender as a binary gendered (cis) person. What we really meant was “trans people are human beings.” In reducing our stance to the basics, we equated the human experience to a binary experience so ignorant cis ppl had a hope of understanding us. What I want to know is why have so many trans people started believing this gender 101 level understanding is all there is when they should know better?
in hindsight sending the number one digit at a time created the funniest half second of either of our lives
