What I Want in Mass Effect 4
If the Mass Effect 4 does take place in the future (say a few hundred years), here’s what I want:
I want a memorial to the Quarian Tali and all her hard work alongside Commander Shepard, who during her first pilgrimage found herself working with the one person who refused to take the fate of the galaxy sitting down; and is credited with being the Quarian who brought them all home.
I want a commentary about a Salarian Scientist who righted the wrongs of his entire species, and cured the genophage so that a race would come back from the brink of extinction.
I want Omega to still exist, and whispers still run rampant of the ghost that was Archangel. The one rare individual who dared to stand against the onslaught of corruption.
I want new pilots to talk of the human who could make any ship dance, that wrote the book on how to fly and that no one has ever been able to match his prowess since.
I want to hear stories of a woman genetically engineered who refused to take her destiny lying down. Of a woman who turned to the man that created her and spun his plan on it’s head, and became her own woman that chose her own path.
I want stories of a man who lived in the shadow of his father, and what he’d done. Of a man who helped save so many people when they had no where else to turn for help. Who became the father he always wanted his to be, and taught his child the meaning of honour.
I want stories told of a biotic who overcame her past and tore up half a planet to protect it from invaders. Who, instead of self destructing became a visionary that taught a new wave of warriors, that refused to let her past define her.
I want tales spoken among Asari of a Justicar that once worked with a human to bring about the eternal peace and stop the Reapers. Of this legendary warrior who found a sister soul among the human race.
I want tales of the Prothean who brought vindication and peace to his race, several thousand years later. That, when it was time, he chose to join them at the outer reaches of space, finally finding peace among the stars.
A memorial to the attempt at overthrowing the Citadel, and how one Drell, helped repel the invasion and protect the councilwoman, that without him, hope would have surely been lost.
I want discussion of the strength of the Normandy crew, it’s feats legendary as they talk of the man who brought the Commander in and out of the most dangerous situations ever faced by any crew alive at the time; all while mourning the loss of his husband.
Of a freshly minted N7 soldier, who saw battle up close while under the command of Shepard. Who stayed beside them, back to back and fought off the world. Who put his life on the line as he traversed worlds he’d never even read about, making sure future generations would have a home to return to when the war was over. All with a grin and quick retort on his lips.
I need comments of the first Geth who broke apart from the Ancient Ones’ grasp. Who sought out to protect those who he knew could help him achieve a lasting peace for everyone. Who in his final moments, understood the meaning of sacrifice and self preservation, and chose the betterment of all.
I want nurses to discuss the woman who was with them to the end, from hell and back. Who protected them even as she was forced into the belly of the beast and still returned. Knowing she could never be satisfied except in the heart of the battleship, helping her companions.
I want to meet Liara, Grunt and EDI. I want Matriarch Liara, still ruling over the underbelly of information, a candle lit picture of Feron and Shepard on her desk. I want Liara, wise in all her years of survival to smile fondly as she listens to Glyph and EDI bicker amongst themselves on her ship.
I want Grunt to be leader of Clan Urdnot, ruling alongside Urdnot Mordin, first born son of Wrex and Bakara. I want to see the land of Tuchanka blossoming with green and Grunt talking of the Tuchanka that was. Of Mordin talking of his namesake who cured them and the kindness of his father, the wisdom and strength of his mother.
But most of all, I want recognition that these people existed, and were loved, respected and honoured.
