12.9.15 - last night’s physics homework setup.
20.11 / 7 - 100 days of productivity : the end of my first week of productivity (also only 7 weeks til mocks !!!) working on some particle physics and mechanics in the morning, this afternoon gonna stick my study playlist on and smash at least 3 past papers 💪 here’s a shot of candles and green tea and baryons anyway, because that’s all u need in life right??? ☕
✨ physics revisions on optics✨
unit test this friday i’m scared(*/∇\*)+ also happy halloween 👻

12.01.17 |•| After a morning swim I'm settling in with some Fundamentals of Physics revision. Exam this time next week, and I don't feel even slightly prepared! :/
I’m in some kind of in between stage at this point. Somewhere in between Christmas and the new year, tidy and messy, school work and no work. But now I have to get on track! Rotation starts tomorrow, and there is no time to slack 👩🏽⚕️
These are my tips on how to be productive whilst also being very busy.
Get all of your daily habits done before you do anything for pleasure- this acts as an award system but also ensures that you’re taking care of yourself.
Do one productive thing before leaving the house for the day- if you can’t do this you’re not waking up early enough.
Do 3 productive things after you get home- this minimum puts you track to do even more, or ensures an evening won’t go wasted.
Plan your night in your head while traveling home- this motivates you to start as soon as you get home, instead of taking a 2-hour break and then going to bed.
Simplify your planning process- planning is fun but it should not take more than 15 minutes.
Allow yourself to be on break- at work or at school if you’re on break rest, don’t burn out half way through the day.
Be disciplined- don’t allow yourself to be an in a routine where you don’t get tasks done because you’re already busy.
These tips were mostly for me… Good luck busy bees!

09.01.17 • I’m going over some biology AS notes on the respiratory system 🔬
spending this snowy morning journaling some of my favorite moments from this past year ❄️
My desk has been taken over by this research paper. How do you guys keep yourself disciplined during the winter break?
7:25 pm // still at university studing. So tired but I have to get 2,5 more chapters done. 😔🎓🌟

Studying Sciences
Hello! I thought I’d share some quick(ish) tips for studying sciences- I hope they’re helpful!
Learn key words! Write a list of key words that you need to learn and memorise the definitions (I recommend flashcards and getting someone to test you on them). It’s vital for sciences that you can recall key words and use them in answers as this is normally what gets you the marks.
Memorise diagrams! Whether it’s the carbon cycle, a labelled kidney, or an electrochemical cell, you often have to be able to draw and recall labels for multiple diagrams in science. I recommend drawing a neat copy yourself and perhaps sticking it up on your wall so you familiarise yourself with it. Then try to draw it without looking, adding on the parts you missed in a different colour. Do this multiple times, hopefully reducing the amount of the other colour as you memorise more.
Learn important sequences! Often in science you have to recall sequences of events, such as what happens during catalysis or the sequence of events in the cardiac cycle. Learning this off by heart can be a really great way of guaranteeing yourself marks in an exam. Using your notes, try to form a concise (simple yet with necessary detail) list of events and perhaps highlight really important phrases. Try reading out loud to yourself, copying it out again, making flashcards of the sequence that you can then try to order, asking someone else to test you on it, or basically anything else that’ll help you learn it. You could also try searching for videos about this topic on youtube as listening and watching someone else explain it can really help.
Brush up on your maths skills! From my experiences (gcse sciences and a-level chemistry and biology) there are often a lot of maths-based questions in science exams which can add up to a fair amount of marks. So it’d be really great to make sure you’re at least partially confident with basic maths skills such as finding percentages, plotting graphs, using given formulae, and rearranging formulae. Check your specification to see which skills you need and then practice them at home using questions from a textbook or online. Again, there are often lots of great videos on youtube too.
Practice your communication skills! You can also get a few marks in exams for having good written communication. This is a great way to pick up a few extra marks, and also a really easy place to mess up on. Questions that are specifically assessed on using good English are usually labelled so but in general it’s a good idea to be clear and organised in your writing anyway as it makes things easier to mark. If English isn’t your strong-suit, practice writing clear sentences in the context of science by doing past long-answer exam questions, and by reading exemplar answers (you can often find these on the exam board’s website). Try to put your answer simply, but without missing out key phrases or explanations.
This is all I can think of for now but I do have more general tips for studying, as well as links to my gcse and AS science notes, on my resources page, and also there’s a tag with all of my study tips here :)
21/11/2016 | 38/100 days of productivity
Today I have practised the piano, gone to college, written history notes, done a maths worksheet and researched economics essays.
Day 3/100 Days of Productivity
Started my day with maths homework. After that I made lunch for me and my family. At the moment I’m still studying psychology. Afterwards I have to go to my choir practice. Haven’t accomplished as much as I wanted to, but I’ll try tomorrow.
