The promise that her friends will 'get over it' was good enough for him- it didn't affect him, really, if they didn't. Still, you didn't hang around a guy like him without expecting some kind of looks to float your way. It would get the message across though, that they were together & if her ex wanted to keep screwing around, there was another, fiery obstacle in his way.
He watched as she walked away, head tilting again as he watched- this wasn't such a bad deal, after all.
Cassie's car was one of the nicer ones he's been in. Which, wasn't saying much- Lip took the subway or a bus everywhere he went. Most people he hung around did too. Being out of place wasn't something that made him uncomfortable, though. He's worn his least torn up jeans, and a plain T-shirt and an open button up short sleeve; for him that was dressed up.
"Whatever you say," He mused as he followed her simple directions. His arm draped over her shoulder, pulling her towards him slightly. He'd seen guys behave this way before- all territorial. He thinks he'll do just fine playing the part.
"Ready for free booze and loud music? Yeah, I think I'm ready."
