You said you used milanote to plan your writing. Do you think it's still safe on the new AI era?
Hi! I believe so. I havenโt encountered any integration as a user ( unlike with notion ) and I havenโt found anything that imdicates that should change.
this is probably going to flop, considering how active iโm on this blog, but i had this idea in 3am in the morning, while listening to the workshop about critique partners. and thanks to the rush of adrenaline, ( and ADHD ) i went with it.ย
it has always been hard for me to find writing friends, critique partners, etc. mostly because until now i wasnโt writing in english. however, as iโm completing the first draft of THE DEADLIEST WISH - my first original english novel ( introduction post is coming soon! ) i want to try again. of course, that book needs hours and hours of polishing, but i would love to gush about the process with someone.ย
and i would adore to hear about yourโs wips too! all the quirky things that make you happy about your craft, all the spoilers youโre eager to share, the spam of emotions that sometimes come from your craft. i am more than able to lead long discussions about tropes, mythology, plots and writing tools. we could swap pages, aesthetics, memes, you know the stuff less anxious people do. xd
i am open to any kind of stories ( though i have a slight preference for fantasy and sci-fi ) SFW/NSFW alike. you can be at any stage of writing, drafting/editing/looking for betareaders. does this sound interesting? go ahead and drop your bookโs synopsis into my dms on any of these ( you donโt even have to introduce yourself, i know how overwhelming those can be ):ย
itโs completely free. all i ask you in return is to be polite, tolerate my sometimes crooked English ( ย ๐ )ย and to let me overshare about my wips to you.
under the cut you found information about THE DEADLIEST WISH, just to see if you would be interested:ย
ABOUT THE BOOK
a dark, villainous romance set in a fantasy world inspired by Slavic myths featuring witches obsessed with power, kings with frozen hearts, and bloody sacrifices.
Akim Anslavย may be the god chosen czar, merciful sovereign to his people and so close to ending a centuries old war, but he is not the hero of this story. Ever since he was a little, he has been cursed with a prophecy claiming only his death will bring peace. Tired of assassination attempts endangering both him and his family, he decides to look for the mysterious chosen one, his destined murderer - and to kill them, before they can kill him.
Katarzyna โKasiaโ Majewskiย may have grown up an honorable soldier, a living saint, and a key to winning a war, but she is not the hero they want her to be. Ever since she was a little she has been a weapon in the hands of others, stripped of her freedom. Sick of abuse and mistreatment, she decides to run away, betray her country and sell her soul to heretic magic instead. She will do anything to survive - even if it means joining forces with the czar she was told to hate.
INCLUDES
- star-crossed lovers, slavic mythology, the chosen one trope twisted, villains in love, choosing your own destiny, wishes that could cost you love, bilingual characters, magic system based on wishes, dragons, mythical creatures, road trip, russian fairytales, gaining back control, royal families, political intrigue and ever lasting sexual tension.
My stories will bore some readers.ย Some readers will hate them. Some wonโt understand, wonโt connect the dots, wonโt relate to the characters. Some wonโt because they canโt, some wonโt because they donโt want to, but most wonโt simple because my stories just arenโt for them.
My stories arenโt for everyone.
My stories are for me.
And theyโre for the readers who will love them.ย Theyโre for the reader who have already loved them. For the readers who will see what I see in them and feel the characters and the world the way I do. Theyโre for the readers who wanted these stories before they even knew they existed. Theyโre for the readers theyโll make smile, the readers theyโll stick with, and the readers theyโll save.
And just because my stories arenโt for everyone doesnโt make them worth any less to the people they are for.ย
Not everyone likes butterflies. Not everyone likes spiders. But the people who love those creatures more than anything else would lose a part of themselves if they didnโt exist.ย
So no, my stories are not for everyone. But that doesnโt matter.ย
Because theyโre for someone, and to that someone, theyโre irreplaceable.
If you see me writing two or more characters in different WIPs with the exact same physical description and personality, no you didnโt, mind yo business
