random but here is a recipe for cold peanut noodles that you can make during hot weather because i just ate this and had a fantastic time
2tbsp of peanut butter. a splash of rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, maple syrup. some chili flakes, some sesame seeds. a splash of water to thin it out. now you put in your noodles (cooled!!!! boiled and rinsed so they’re cold!!) and then some chopped up cucumber or carrot or avocado or cabbage or any crunchy vegetable. i just used cucumber
you can also put in lime juice or herbs or sriracha or grated garlic/ginger or anything like that; tofu/tempe/meat for more protein etc. noodle wise this can be ramen soba udon whatever, i used soba. enjoy homies
we all know adult humans dont get enough enrichment but the other day i was walkin home past an empty playground and impulsively ran over to spin myself on this zipline merry-go-round contraption for a few minutes and it really did feel like it unlocked some neglected part of my brain. like damn we really should all go outside and play more. fuck. they werent kidding with this play time thing. have you guys heard about play time. it could be huge.
I think I got into writing humor and comedy because I just say things that I think are normal and then people laugh at them. Something is fundamentally broken in my brain i think. But oh well. Might as well pretend that I’m doing it on purpose so that I don’t spiral into the existential dread of realizing that everyone sees the natural parts of my thought processes as being fundamentally unserious amirite ladies
“Ghosts are real” I can see how you could believe that
“Ghosts aren’t real” it’s very fair and rational that you believe that
“Ghosts aren’t real anymore” I’m about to hear a poem or very sad story
“Ghosts aren’t real yet” the fuck are you going to do
sheltered by the boughs...
Okay, so rationally I was aware that this is just a hairless mammal pictured from a very unflattering angle, but also the first thought that popped into my head was that it was shaped like a terrible fleshy bird.
Was thinking of 2015 when I'd have begged to see overtly queer movie trailers as I watched not one but TWO trailers for the worst-looking gay and lesbian (respectively) swill I've ever been forced to sit through
Hmmm I know octopuses are generally sweet and gentle and are just curious sea puppies (and I love them!), that being said, the thoughts of being dragged by my feet by one of them into the deep and dark ocean is… safe to say new fear has been unlocked

I had the privilege to watch the recent film " Remarkably Bright Creatures " on Netflix and absolutely loved it. You may say that it brought me here. Octopuses are some of the coolest beings on the planet without a doubt. Each arm can taste, touch, and even make decisions independently.
Day 143/365 of listing something good I saw today:
A barbie pink VW Beetle :)
people love the idea of the mean girl nurse pipeline because it problematises medical abuse as a personal perversion rather than understanding it as a product of broadly held ableist values and its like, if this was only about ontologically evil teenage girls choosing to enter a profession because of their unique sadism then you really wouldnt expect to see the exact same forms of abuse pervading all arrangements of paid, unpaid, formal, ad hoc, and familial caretaking as well -- its more comforting to believe the nurse was just a preexisting bad person than that most of the world broadly hates disabled people and will abuse, neglect, and gaslight them if given power over their care
Day 144/365 of listing something good I saw today:
I had no idea whether the grocery store would have tiramisu, checked the shelf I last found them in just in case, and lo and behold there were some, with a 30% discount. I got two.
Chronically overwhelmed.. **yes**, personally victimized by my todo list, and a cup of support would solve 45% of my problems (which doesn't sound like a lot but when you understand the scope?
You understand I went back to Jesus this year)
There's probably at least one gen Z kid suffering from locked in syndrome who spends most of their time contemplating on whether they find "damn right I'm locked tf in 24/7" jokes personally offensive or funny as hell.
Leave me the fuck alone about it I can be both
stop. analyse that text through the lens of its author's intentions and original historical context. okay now take the author out back and kill them dead and analyse that text as though it were published by your mutual yesterday and is in direct conversation with the contemporary discourse that's most relevant to your life. okay now pick your favorite angle of interpretation and come up with the strongest possible argument against it. now imagine that the text is your best friend and that it means you well and that you naturally give it every benefit of the doubt because you're on its side and you want the best for it. now imagine that the text wants you dead and it'll eat you if you don't eat it first. now pretend that you found this text locked away in a cave with no evidence of when or where it came from and you have to divine its meaning solely through its internal coherence and nothing else. okay now address the elephant in the room aspect of the text you've been ignoring because you find it boring or confusing or uncomfortable and become the number one expert on it. now spend forty minutes assigning all the characters dnd classes with at least three sentences of reasoning each. okay now do the cha cha slide.
I'm gonna do the ACOTAR series
I'm not a catholic and have never even seen one up close, but I think the pope should start excommunicating people on the reg again. Just start publicly going "you know what, fuck you, you can't sit with us. You're not allowed in church or heaven on the grounds of being JD Vance. Eat shit and go to hell."
Stir shit up a little. What's the point of being the mouthpiece of god if nothing you say has consequences.
it's rushed and ugly, but I threw this together about it anyway.
"Can't pour from an empty cup", but it's about your parents trying to teach you to respect them when they've never respected a single thing in their entire lives.
