Honestly my problem isn’t w Apple. I love Apple. She has some very admirable qualities. And I understand, as a gay teen raised in a conservative Christian home, that changing your mindset is hard. She is finally getting there, and if Mattel wasn’t avoiding her gay subplot with Darling maybe we could see her finally accepting it.

My problem is how the show (and fandom) glosses over how honestly hurtful it can be to have someone repeatedly dismiss your thoughts and feelings and insist that your attempts to be happy are wrong and they know better. Not just with Raven, but with Briar and Ashlynn from True Hearts Day and Thronecoming as well (I haven’t forgotten Mattel, she never rlly apologized for that). Frankly, I think Raven was just glad for a friendly face, as its shown most people avoided her. You can get along w people like that, but it is frustrating and tiring, as Raven says in Thronecoming and Dragon Games.

I am sure this flaw comes from Snow’s parenting of her, and it can be overcome.

This romance with Darling, who is willing to stand up for her beliefs and doesn’t care about destiny, but who Apple has never tried to pressure and knows how Apple can be, could definitely be the final thing to help Apple realize life doesn’t need to go to some ‘perfect’ plan

This is pretty much why I started liking Apple as a character. At first, it didn’t seem like she was going to change... and beside very likeable and relatable characters, such as Raven herself, it was hard to invest “feelings” on Apple or her arc (I mean, boohoo, the girl who had everything she wanted now will have to work to be happy)... but after WTW and DG she started showing signals of development and it was AWESOME! She grew so much, so fast... but it never went ahead because Mattel didn’t want to commit...

Both her arc and Raven’s can be paralleled to a “coming out of the closet” situation. With Raven, it is about a person who knows who they are and are ready to show the world, either people like it or not. Whereas Apple is the exactly opposite, because it is about self discovery. It didn’t have to be a straightforward “coming out” story (Raven wasn’t, though I see her as Bi), but they went that extra mile with Apple, I don’t know why they didn’t commit to it.

(I mean, we KNOW why, because EAH webisodes and specials had only ONE reason to exist, and that is to sell dolls. Mattel couldn’t handle infuriating some homophobic parents, could they? But now that the series is pretty much over they could go “bth Apple is gay, buy our new doll lines, bye”.)

Her she is! My version of Apple White in Ballet class! I couldn’t be any happier with the way she turned out! What did I do? I used a Dragon Games Apple head and placed it in a naked Apple body. Then, I changed her lip color from pink to bright red to match her dress. I gave her a basic ponytail hairstyle I saw on some ballerinas online and decided it was perfect. Can you believe there aren’t any Apple dolls with ponytails from Mattel? That will make her stand out from the others! I placed one of the headbands with a crown that came with the Getting Fairest Apple, pierced her ears and added some cute apple earrings. I found the necklace in an accessory drawer I have and painted it gold (it was red). I added a gold bracelet from that same drawer and I painted a bow belt gold. I added basic fishnet leggings and painted the Maddie’s budget ballerina shoes from gold to black and red. As for the beautiful dress she’s wearing, I got it from Haunt Couture! Such beautiful detail, fantastic quality and overall an amazing work of art! I recommend you check their shop for one of a kind outfits for your dolls. And there she is! The complete look. I hope you guys like how she turned out! Now she’s definitely worth of being part of my Apple White collection! <3

Even though it was posed as literal CPR for unfortunate reasons, the figurative kiss between Prince Charming’s daughter and Snow White’s daughter is still perfectly clear – and it meant a lot to some people.
